Secondary Clutch for 96 XCR 600 SP?, Would a clutch from a later model be better?

My secondary clutch seems to be working as it should, but I have read that the later clutches were improved.

Can buy a secondary clutches from Edge Sleds fairly cheap on E-bay and I was wondering if one of them might work better.

If so, how much better would it be, and which sleds would be good donors?

If they work better, why?

Would it be a direct bolt on swap?

Any negatives (other than cost)?

I just play around on the sled, no top speed runs or anything like that.
