Hi gys and gals I am new to this site and need a lil...ok lot of advice on rebuilding a 1986 indy 600 liquid cooled engine that someone else worked on and made a mess of. They for somee reason took all the oil injection parts...pump, check valves from the oil pump off and made it a premix:face-icon-small-sad as a result of that the connecting rod and piston blew apart and ruined the crankcase. i have it apart but does anyone know the size of the checkvalves used on the injection system ? Also how big a pain is it to take the crank apart to put on a new connecting rod/ Oh ya they also had 3 totally different pistons in the thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Parts for those old triples are cheap and plentiful on Ebay. Removing the oil injection and running premix would't have caused the crank to grenade, it was probably on it's way out regardless. Check the polaris parts for sale section on hardcore sledder there is a guy there called oneslowindy posted on the 7th that he has an entire '91 650 engine for $400
