How have the ported Powerclaws held up?

I did a search and read many posts by guys that had ported their Powerclaw tracks.

So guys:

How did they hold up for you?

Would you do it again?

Did the track stretch more than normal?

What is the recommended porting pattern?

Did any of you port the outer belts?

Thanks for any information you can share.

Surely, someone must have a report on how well their ported Powerclaw held up?

Did the performance of the track improve with the porting?

Was there a noticable decrease in force required to turn the track by hand?

Does the sled tend to coast now on slight downhills?

Did your mileage increase?

Did your RPMs come up, indicatiing you may have freed up more power?

I know, more stupid questions Frostbite, but my BDX porting tool is sitting on the bench in the shop just waiting......................

I'm curiouis too, ported my old series 4 Poo track and wish I hadn't put quite so many holes in it. Don't want to make that mistake again.

i know a guy with an 09 m8 with a ported track, he goes up to cooke, bighorns, etc. every weekend ( or someone else does with his sled) and it has held up just fine.

Alright, there wasn't a lot of input on this one so I went ahead and did a very mild porting job on my new Powerclaw.

I didn't want to put a hole in front of the paddles so the paddles would be left to grip undistrubed snow.

I also didn't want to put any holes where the inner rear axle wheels would go through the port holes. So here's what I did. It's mild but it just might be enough to let a little more snow out of the track.
