'94 EXT 580 clutching question

I have a '94 Ext 580 EFI, great backup sled even though it has probably 6,000 miles on it. I blew up the primary clutch and a friend gave me a newer 9 tower clutch. The problem I have now is that it engages at too high RPM, around 5,500 before it really locks up and moves. After that it works OK, but is working at much high RPM through the whole range.

It has the yellow spring with white stripe. I already checked the belt clearance, and made sure the weights are moving smoothly etc.. (50 gram weights). It looks like I probably should have the yellow w/green spring. My question is will it really make that much difference? The chart says Yellow/White is 122 lbs, and the Yellow/Green is 114 lbs, so will the 8 lbs really make that much difference so it will engage more like 3,500 RPM? Or should I be looking at heavier weights or something else?

Thanks
