Powerclaw track is amazing, make sure to get it. The tunnel will be tapered on the 09 which is a little better for not getting hung up. The 09 also has the Powerclaw track, electronic reverse (much less weight), better bumper and taillight and is quite a bit lighter (486 lbs comes to mind but not sure) The HP is about the same from 08 to 09 so the only thing you don't get is the weight loss primarily from the electronic reverse. 09 SnoPro's have telescoping handle bars which is a nice feature. I added them to my 09 M8 but not sure if it adapts to the 08's.

FWIW- I really like the 08 with the Powerclaw track and with a few mods it rips. It sounds like you are getting a good deal on the sled you are considering.

I think the rear skid on the 09 is a bit lighter as well, not sure how much. I ride an 08 with d and d y,single,can,2.5 extreme, and changed the clutching a bit, love it. We ride with a guy that has an 09 sno-pro with the same set up from d/d and pretty much no difference drag racing or climbing in the deep. His does feel lighter, feels like a 153 instead of 162. but for the price i'd say you can't go wrong. Watch out going down steep & hard with the powerclaw, he says it gets pretty hairy. He said it almost acts like the old attack 20 going down hill, but says it kicks a$$ everywhere else.

I pulled the trigger on an 08 as well... make sure she's clutched right... and it runs like a rapped ape!! very fun and just seems to keep pulling and climbing where other sleds peter-out. You won't be disappointed! the 09 does have the electronic reverse which is nice, and the bumper upgrade... othewise they are quite similar... and you can't beat that price!! I paid 8700 for the exact same sled 3 months ago! The powerclaw does a make a bunch of difference as well, it is truely a worthy upgrade!!

Best of luck and ENJOY!!!

The rear skid on the 09's is 1lb lighter, just because of the rails. Otherwise the skid is the same. The biggest weight difference is the 8lbs from the reverse, but myself I would rather wait and not get the first year engine reverse (just my opinion, don't want to argue). The rest of the weight savings is half a pound here, half a pound there. Apparently the decreased rolling resistance of the powerclaw feels like 10 extra hp though, I am thinking of one for my 08. Sounds like the sled you are looking at is a wicked deal.
