Is there any chance to actually get rid of obama care???

Here's a interesting fact I haven't seen anyone else put out there yet about obamacare...one of the big deals was the no deny for preexisting conditions right? wrong..every policy I have looked at here so far shows that all preexisting conditions require 12 months of intact coverage before any coverage will be offered...in other words if you change providers or don't plan on buying insurance until its needed..you will be stuck with every med bill unless you buy the insurance and then set on it for 12 months..then they will cover your preexisting issue like normal.....
that wont matter anyway..their stuff is already 100% free and covers everything anyway........
Isn't anyone tired of paying for the uninsured's bill when seeking care? Under the current system, who do you think pays for the care of the individual that chooses not to pay their pill? It cost me $85,000 to get a new hip last year. Why do you think folks are going to other countries to get this kind of treatment. I've got one word for you to consider-freeloaders!!
no doubt mold..but obamacare isn't the answer......more gov isn't the answer...

Everyday you hear about more and more companies that are laying people off, reducing hours of work, eliminating insurance benefits for spouses, etc. etc. etc.
And we're talking huge billion dollar corporations here, not just mom and pop shops. Heard just yesterday that Home Depot actually used to offer health insurance benefits to it's part time employees, not no more. It's not just a matter of the lost jobs, reduced hours, lost benefits, etc. Obamacare is going to have a devastating effect accross the board. Price of goods and services are going to sky rocket because companies are going to have to add the added costs associated with Obamacare to the price of their goods or services to remain profitable and keep the doors open. One of two things is going to happen with this issue. Either the country is going to wake up and realize what this law is doing to our country even before it is implemented, and it will be repealed. Or, we will all end up in the soup line at the mercy of our government. Which is right where I am starting to think this president wants us.

This issue has bothered me lately; how is it that Canada has managed to do this for 50+ years, yet the States cannot? Just throwing it out there, if our country can do it then why can't the States? What's the difference between us that makes it nearly impossible down there?

All I know of the Canadian system would be simply hearsay. So please enlighten us, what makes your system great?? Don't take that wrong, I am not trying to be fesicious, truely curious.
All I see with Obamacare is more costs to those of us that are the working members of society paying more for the all too many non working members of society!! Which we already pay too much as it is.
And I know for fact, employers are not going to absorb these added costs, it is going to be passed on to the employees, if it is not done away with altogether!! Which is already happening through lost jobs, hours cut, benefits to dependents cut.
I've said a million times, and I will say again. My belief is that health insurance is not a right!!! If you have a crap job, get off your a$$ and do something about it!!! Better yourself, get a better job!!! If you say you can't get a better job, I call B.S. they are still out there, yes a little slimmer right now but not impossible. More than likely if you are a career burger flipper at Mickey D's it is probably because of choices you have made in your life that put you there and keep you there. Not my problem!!

Maybe I am looking at it wrong? I have the same issue as you only I am looking at your system from my perspective with no idea of how it runs.
What I like about our system is that I have a very low payment every month that enables me and my family to get medical help without having to take out a second mortgage if it's serious.
I think our system is very easily abused by the freeloaders, but it does look after the less fortunate who cannot better themselves that easily. I'm talking about the single parent with a bunch of kids that is struggling just to provide the necessities for their families or the severely impaired just to name a couple.

What about all the long waits for care, and procedures you can't get up there that cause canadians to come to the states for healthcare because of time constraints or they just cant get it done because it is deemed not a neccesatiy. These are things we have heard about your system. True or false???
The good Dr's that say f#ck it and go into private practice and only fix for cash!

True there is some long waits, I had a bad wreck on my horse a couple years back and it took 13 months to get surgery on my shoulder. I've never heard of someone not getting proper medical care though because it was deemed "not a necessity". I've heard of people going to the states as well as other places to get some procedures done in a timely manner and also to get some procedures done that are not approved to be done in this country.

I didn't know this about your system. We have something similar here, if you are below a certain income level you qualify for full medical coverage.
My .02.....There were probably good intentions when they set out to write the bill. But, as usual the insurance companies, lawyers and politicians manage to turn it into an overly complicated 2,700 page fiasco. The insurance companies love the fact that the govt is requiring everyone to buy their product, so I suspect they were seeing dollar signs and making sure it was written to maximize profit.
People say "Its just like Romney Care in Mass,"....but that bill was like 27 pages, not 2700 yet it accomplished basically the same thing.
If they want to overturn this, I don't understand why they don't attack it from the "tax" side. Since the Supreme Court deemed the penalty a "tax" (after it was not a tax), and all taxes MUST originate in the House of Reps....yet the bill was written 100% in the Senate, this means the tax was implemented illegally. As soon as one person has to actually pay this illegal tax, THEN I suspect we will see a lawsuit. But that will likely only change the penalty portion of the law....then without that portion of funding they will just have to get the $$ from somewhere else....that being your pocket and mine I'm sure.
It will get refined over time, but I think we are stuck with it.
