Zero Pro's on an 07 600 RMK

The 600 I rebuilt seemed really soft in the front with the stock (maybe shot) RydeFX shocks. I have a pair of Zero Pros. After rebuilding them, would they be a good replacement compared to some WE take offs?

.

Were the Zero Pros made especially for an IQ RMK... or did you get them used from another "similar" setup?

.

I have a set of Zero Pros on my 06 700 and I love them.

The ride is so much better than the WE's, which I found were way too soft. Granted, my 06 700 front end is probably a lot heavier than your 07, but the ZP is a great all around shock that performs great and can handle a lot of abuse. :)

I'm 210 lbs. with my pack and fully geared up and am an aggressive mountain rider.....the FOX rep at Carl's recommended the 110# spring for me. After riding it all year and a lot of field adjusting, I feel I should have gotten the 120# spring. I'm running about 1.5" of preload with the 110# spring and was told by a reputable source that if you have to run more than 3/4" of preload on these you should be running a heavier spring.

I second this. I had a pair of zero pros on my 08 600 that came off of an 07 switchback and they were a major upgrade from the non-rebuildable walker evans. Even if they are not made specifically for that model I think they will still be significantly better for you.

They are much better, even a pair of shortened 17.5" shocks from an M-sled work awesome.

Do they have to be shortened or will you be ok with the extra 1/2 inch?

I know at least 4 people who are running 17.5" Zero Pros from Cats on their 900/700's are have no issues with performance or ride ability.

You will definitely have to readjust your camber after install though and they will be a real b#tch to install, ie.... Lining up the holes with the added 1/2"

How do you shorten them than? Cut the shaft down and die some threads?

As far as I know, they used a 3/8" or so center punch to go thru the a arm tabs and apply lever action to compress the shaft up to line up the bolt holes.

I think the answer he was looking for was, "They didn't." It looks like you just need to apply force in order to get the shocks onto the a-arms.
