Z-Broz A-arms question

If you are installing a 36 inch kit on the 2013-2014 it will also work. The slightly higher ride height doesn't appear to affect handling enough to be noticed by us or our customers. It is important to make sure that at full droop you have no binding. We have had customers who had to clearance the spherical bearing along with the spindles.

Anyone have a set of 39" ZBroz "A" Arms in stock for a 2012 PRO??? My stockers are bent and I see ZBroz are out of stock on their site!!!

You just have to grind the spindles so the a arms clear them to steer at full droop.

Or have the shocks shortened.

Switchback assault shock length

Sheetmetalfab is totally correct. You will have to grind on your spindles to make them turn when at droop/full extension. The arms were originally designed for a max of 17.5" shock but they will work just fine with that length shock if you grind the spindle for clearance.
That long of a ski shock is not ideal for mountain riding, our shock spec when we build our Exit shocks for those is 17.125 and we find that to be the ideal length for mountain use with that kit.

Steering Bind

Got a question here.... Got my 12 Pro out for a ride yesterday for the first time this year with the new ZBROZ A Arm's, Stock Walker Evans Shocks and ZBROZ dual rate springs. when the sled is on step and skis are drooped my steering is binding; I guess it is safe to say my springs are adjusted too stiff and the spindles are binding on the "A" Arms.
If I just reduce the spring pressure to reduce the Extended length distance, will this solve my problem???
Has anyone tried modifying the shock to cut 1/2" off the rod end, rethread the rod and re-install the eye to get to the 17.125 magical length???

Questions

I pm'd ditch1000 so hopefully it helps him. With the 17.5" long 11-12 length shocks on 39" kits we have seen the ice and snow build up on the spindle and cause some rubbing and binding at droop, easy to check and a little filing or grinding on the spindle in the right spot frees it up.

When I talked to them recently, they will put you on the list and should only be a couple of weeks.

I'd like to add a couple points concerning installing the 39 wide ZBroz Arms to a 2013 or 2014 Pro Rmk.

1. The 16.625" stock Pro RMK shock length work perfect. I installed 39 wide Arms on a Pro las week and the stock shocks fit exactly like they should have. The front bumper was within 1/2" of the stock height.

2. Fit and finish of these latest ZBroz arms is perfect. I backed off every Jam nut 1/4 turn and put every fitting on the new arms exactly where they were adjusted on the stock arms and every dimension was perfect. Caster, Camber, Toe Out, everything lined up perfect. Quality Control on these new arms is exceptional.

3. The lower aluminum spacers on the two front shocks must be changed out. They are designed for an 8mm bolt not a 10mm bolt. The Polaris part # for the correct spacer is 5136530 and they cost about $3 each. You will need 4 spacers total. You must remove the 4 stock aluminum spacers and replace them with the 10mm steel spacers.

Great product overall. I have installed lots of ZBroz arms over the years and their new stuff is perfect.

I PM'd ditch1000 and I think I know what is going on? His spindles are powder coated and he is running the max length ski shock 17.5". The powder coat build up has been known to cause some rubbing at full droop with this length shock. Literally we put the clearance for the spindle at droop on this kit very tight and I have seen one other case similar to this. If the powder coater uses a primer as well as a top coat process the build up can easily be the issue. Of course if the shock was 17.250 or shorter like the 13-14 lengths there would be no issue. Just an FYI for everyone following the thread. :typing:

I jacked the front of the sled up in the air with a floor jack and checked the clearances; the right spindle was good and the left had a little rubbing but not much. I did however file a little bit of powder coating and aluminum off 1 corner. Most of the problem however was the ball joints binding up; I just turned out 3 more full turns on the ball joint jacking bolts to add more camber and that freed up the ball joints in the full droop position!! All is good now!!!
Thanks for the help everyone!!

39" stockers vs 39" zbroz
With assault shocks

Have just bent my lower a arm on my 12 pro assault 155

Trying to go over my after market options and see u have the assault shocks on a 39" a arm, how does it handle and are those shocks the same length as would be on my assault?

I've been trying to read up on all these sleds and seems to me I have to go with a shorter length shock than what's on my sled, I really like the WE clickers for adjustability though

I think I'd like to go to the 39" a arm but if I have to end up switching shocks aswell it will be out of my price range for now and will most likely have to get the stock sized a arm for my sled

I am running one half inch slugs in mine to shorten them.
My brother is running the 39 inch front end with just the stock assault shocks, everything works but the front end is noticeably higher.
Any local shock rebuild guy can add the slugs for fairly cheap.
I think it makes it easier to initiate and hold a sidehill with the higher front end. Even with the slugs in the assault shocks is still about a half inch higher than stock Pro RMK, because they are a high clearance A arm.
