YZ 250F or CRF 250R

What about kawasaki and suzuki..?
I heard the crf 250s had problems smoking valves... bad.

Supposedly it was fixed in '07, I thought it was '08. But in any case, if you keep up on valve adj you won't have an issue with the Honda.

Kawi is def a hard bike to beat. Suzuki's aren't bad, however I personally will never ride one unless it's given to me, never been a fan of yellow.

As long as it's not KTM your good, people have more money than brains when they buy one of those... although they are bar none the best looking bike out there imo.

Are you stuck on a 250? What about a 450?

why do you say that about KTMs? I ride with almost all KTM both 2 and 4 stroke, and they are rock solid bikes.

If you are a trail rider, I would seriously look at KTM, there's a reason the slogan is Read to Race, and a reason why serious trail mags like Dirt Rider love the KTM so much,

That being said I'm on team YZ

It's a personal opinion. I don't like the suspension (It is a different setup than the Japanese), the way the motor sounds (4-stroke), the cost of the bike new, the cost for OEM parts (They are more expensive than the Japanese bikes).

MSRP For a '10 EXC 450 is 9.2k... vs '10 WR450 @ 8k... Your not getting that much more, 6 speed vs 5 speed, that's about it. Their weight is pretty damn close, unnoticeable. Not to mention the EXC doesn't have the track record that the WR has.

I wasn't impressed with the 2 strokes. I will give KTM one thing though, they have come a LONG ways from their early days.

i had a feeling you would say suspension.

I dunno, I guess the guys I ride with haven't had to buy all that many parts for their bikes...then again they take real good care of them.
