Your opinion on the 08's?

Nytro:D Made the jump and haven't looked back since.

-Turn key & ride
-Wicked & reliable with boost
-Forget oil & belts
-MPG
-Great boondocker

I boiled it all down to performance & reliability. Got tired of tinkering with modded 2 strokes.

Hmmm can I pick two.

Nytro for Boost and all out fun just gas up and go weekend after weekend

2nd would have to be the 800 Dragon sweet sled what a comeback Polaris has made from the 900's just wished it was as boost friendly as the Nytro

XP 800 Summit. I know you've heard about belt problems blah blah blah. My clutches were hot after hard climbing in 35-45 degree weather. I could feel the performance slowly decreasing, Then I took the side panels off and let the clutches cool for about 5 minutes. went and took a big pull with the side panels off and I could tell night and day difference with the clutches being cooler. Also the clutch guard doo put on their is the dumest thing they could do. I did have to ride with that for protection though
(w/ side panels off), what im saying is, add a vent system, take care of your belts/clutches, and you have the BEST out of the box 08 mountain snowmobile.

id take one of these over any 08:)

I like the XP. Hands down, it's better than my 05 800! Handles better, more power, lighter, climbs better. All sleds that come out under a new chassis are gonna have some bugs, it doesn't matter who makes it. It just seems that Doo is everybodie's favorite target cause they have yet again, changed the look of the snowmobile, thus drawing attention to themselves. I bought a 4 year warranty just to cover my a$$ so I am not worried. I have started to lose my first belt, but I think it was my fault, WOT all day in very deep powder!

my 08 163 XP......no other stock sled can touch me, find me, bring it, please prove me wrong, yes it eats parts, let get past this children......i gots money and rims are real big

08 M8 - still a joke of a stock sled

08 dragon - never seen one with a rider who can ride, still waiting for freak to bring it:D.....i think he's looking for a keyboard extention cable that will strech from his house to tower mtn....

almost forgot, i msut insert (IMO) here so some other dont think im pushing my views.....lmao

i own an xp! ok..ok..i want my 06 back!:(

.

i have a nicely tuned 06 summit X 151, boss seat, DJ clutch kit, whatever skis you want, scratchers, smitty drop down, smitty axle kit, e-starter for the wife, hps can, jerry can, vents, 19 top gear......and other stuff

anywho, i will make a trade if you are rally looking to trade for a 06, i got cash if you are serius......ask around on dootalk, my 06 rips as must do

I'm having more fun on my 08 M1000 162 this year than I thought possible, last year on my 04 900 I would say this is the best sled I've had. This year I'm saying it about the M1000! I really like the M chassis alot it floats, sidehills plays awesome makes for a fun day!

Every manufacturer has some good "potential" products out there. Since I work in other aspects of the motorsports industry, I'm going to say they all suck. Why??? Because you can go out and buy any dirtbike or sportbike and not have to worry about the fuel injection being right. Not worry about having to set up your clutching properly. Not worry about your body panels lining up. Not worry about drivetrains breaking. Just my opinion, not trying to pick on anyone. I just feel that the quality of the new sleds doesn't even come close to justifying the cost.
And after much wrenching I think the Dragon 800 is the most fun sled I have ever ridden. I will admit however that I haven't ridden the M1000 or an XP.

Hmmm, I wouldn't call it the BEST out of the box if you have to make all of those changes.

lol..my 06 159 was a dang good sled! if warranty would'nt of run out..i would of kept it! i'll have to keep tweeking my xp to get it up to par,,,then i'll probably be a happier camper! the xp is a good sled..its just that brp really fell asleep with some design, reliability, user friendlyness issues...especially for mountain riders!
when the 06's came out..the rev threads were awfully quiet compared to the xp!

Our 08 M8 snopro right out of the box was ripping. Lightweight, clutching was dead nut, great rear suspention, 600 miles and the belt still looks new. Threw an SLP pipe on it after break in, and haven't had a problem marking any of the new iron on the mtn. Our 08 M8 162, took a little work, as it was pig rich, needed less weight in the prim. SLP pipe/bd box, and a head has it running extremely hard. Not a single issue with the belt, strictly add oil and ride.
