You see Sara P. last night at the bar?

and i think those are great qualities for a governor, or a mayor, or evem a senator. but NOT potentially the leader of the most powerful country in the world....

Dumbest post I've read yet today and that's with grammar aside. But I'll keep reading because there's bound to be another one.

She is a middle class chick for sure

She and her hubby made $166k in 2007. Is that middle class for Alaska's standards?

Download this as a GIF file. Pretty funny!

You can't blame GW for the downward spiral we are in, he is only one man. Did he help, probably not, but it is the government as a whole that has turned this country in the direction it is headed, and there is no short term answer (i.e. bailout). So many people blame him for this or that, take the war in Iraq. If you or I were given the same information he was, we would have done the same thing. No matter what is said, at that time and with that information (whether it was true or not) he made a decision that was in the best interest of the country at that time. Trust me I am not defending him, but as President you also rely on the information you are given to make a sound judgement. (If we really need to blame someone, blame it on Cheney-he wanted his own little war anyway)
I normally don't watch the debates, but am very interested this time around, as the future of my kids are at stake in this election. All the mudslinging, he said/she said BULLSH!T is so old. I am not sure either man is right for the job, but in end I would feel better if the man in charge has been through the toughest times, and knows how to survive. I will give Obama credit, he is a smooth talker. But is he really better QUALIFIED to run this country?
As far as Palin, she would be surrounded by the same people McCain would be, so those decisions would not change.

she may not be middle class per se, however she and husband certainly started out as a middle class family. she has successfully pursued the "American dream" through dedication and hard work. Kudos to her.

I don't think anyone here is suggesting that her having middle class roots and her genuine identification with middle class American makes her, in isolation, a viable VP or possible President. Here qualifications (or lack thereof depending on your perspective) speak to her readiness for the VP position.

To me, her identification with the struggles of middle class families is appealing. I contrast her with Joe Biden, who has some very good qualities, however, I feel he is a little less sincere in supporting his own message. He is in favor of more gov't programs to help the poor or those who are struggling (great..I can buy off on that to some degree). For someone to be this committed to helping the poor, one would expect their charitable contributions to be substantial. Not the case with Mr. Biden (~$1000 contributed in 2007). It seems like he is more interested in giving other people's money away (taxpayers) than his own. To me this is a disconnect.

To me, this disconnect seems to grow as one moves up the political food chain. While Palin doesn't give half of her income away, the disconnect between her and middle class Americans doesn't seem to be as great as Biden's or Obama's or even McCain. Therefore the appeal is not that she or her husband ride sleds, hunt or can throw a Bud back in a sports bar, the appeal is that she is still connected/remembers the middle class while having adequate qualifications (again debatable depending on your perspective) to be VP.

sorry to ramble.

AIM IN BRUTHA!

You are saying what I apparently just cant get across. This is the best statement in this thread and is the point I was trying to make.

What do you think Biden makes?

Thats a good question. Does anyone know? Historically it seems to me that most politicians come from wealthy lines or the legal (lawyers) system. Because of that, they are often out of touch with the bulk of the population......blue collar North America.
