You know whats amazing about the 7 AND 8 Dragons?

yeah thats pretty darn good i got a old cat 580 efi and its a hog. gets better mileage then a skud renigade or crossfire 600 and i noticed it hardly uses oil. i fille dit up once this season and put well over 150 miles on. budys new crossfire 600 went through a refill already and its got 77 mile son it

My Dad's D8 uses about the same as my Nytro when we fill them up. On the same ride his old 900 with Performance package uses about 1Gal more. Very happy that it does as good as our 900's did.

Uses very little oil as well. Nice!!

kind of suprised to read this, my 05 800 was i mizer compared to the new dragon 8. im not complaining as i still can make it a day on a tank but it takes noticeably more than my 05 and took at least a gallon or more a day than my dad's dragon 700.

Stop complaining, the walk to the gas station was good for u! :D

I had heard the Dragons were amazing on fuel economy. Kinda like the old XLTs back in the day - I swear those things used to make gas while you rode!!!

I guess it really depends on how you ride the D8. One of our buddies ran out of gas in less than 40 miles with a full tank. It was pretty funny we were only about 1/2 mile from his cabin.

Freak...Ive been thinking every time on the way home I gotta post this same thing!!

I ride all day and still have any where from a half to a quarter tank left...and thats with it pinned to the plastic!!

As a matter of fack I just toldd my brother tonight that I should never bout the gas rack as Ive never had to add fuel yet ..My escape was much more thirsty...But I would guess that when the long days of spring hit i;ll need the gas rack..:face-icon-small-hap

Oil consumption is great also!!

I luv this sled!

Gotta love all these folks who think we dont know how to pours the coals to our motors. My last ride was 40 miles at Fairview and for those who dont know Fairview, there is no trail, its all mtn riding from the truck. Came home with 1/3 tank.

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this but with last years D7 DO NOT BELIEVE YOUR FUEL GAGE! last year gauge showed well over 1/4 tank and the sled just quit! I am thinking major failure somewhere after about 30 min of dinking with it we decide to put some fuel in it... a couple of pulls and she started right up! .... I was relieved and pizzed at the same time... stupid gauge...

Also what did they do with the D8 that you guys aren't using a ton of oil? My D7 is one thirsty biotch when it comes to oil....I can not get two rides out of a full bottle? proved that on the same trip as the fuel incident...

Get's me more and more convinced that my next sled will be a D8. I like how my wife's M7 handles and the power is way respsectable for a 700, so a M8 or M1K have been in the running.
Rode a new XP (on the trail, didin't want to be the first guy to wrap my buddie's new sled around a tree or sumthin':D), it was quick and the riding position was.............different, felt good though, but cold as sh!t w/ no wind shield. SOmething must have been f...ed up w/ his sled, cause it felt like you hammered the brakes every time you let off the throttle and the ski pressure was absurd (setup?). No way you could turn the skis running down the trail w/ one arm, real tough to steer.
Haven't done any more than kick the track on a Dragon, but it feels a whole more stouter than the M or the XP. I routinely bend the chit out of the running boards on any sled I have, and the Dragon boards don't flex even a little bit, jumping w/ both feet on one side
My RMK and the M7 EFI, both only get me 40-50 mi of hard riding, maybe 80 mi if alot of trails.
Sooooooooo.....if the D8 is fuel efficient too, we're set!
Gotta do something by next year. The ole RMK is beat like a red headed step child at 3000mi. Runs strong and reliable, all the time, but the chassis is TIRED!
