You know what really grinds my gears?

Kawasaki.... Here's why.

A friend of mine left his early 90s 300 4x4 at my house LAST AUGUST after a trip. SO, I stored it all winter, which is fine. I have tons of room, and he was cool with letting me borrow it once in a while to run my dog up the road. Anyways, lately, the starter hasn't worked. So, last night, I decide i'm gonna fix it up for him, since he's been cool with letting me borrow it.

So, I tear the starter out, and bench test it. Tests fine. Go to put it back in, and this is where I realize it's NOT a typical gear to gear starter, but one of these chain to starter clutch deals. Thereby making it nearly impossible to reinstall without pulling the entire engine cover off...

On the plus side, i'm pretty sure I know what's wrong with his starter now,... Stupid overcomplicated no good for nothing Kawajunk....

thats how they make there money by making it complicated enough you will take it to the dealer.

Yeah, but I won't.... Thing is, though, they're turning away potential customers. I buy a new bike every year or two, and, after seeing this abortion, and my Brute Force, I will never, ever, as long as I live, buy another Kawasaki product ever again....

they make it so difficult to work on any more with how they put them together its a joke .the tools you have to buy to work on some of them are way $$$$$$ that thats a joke to. i usually do all my own work on then as well and its frustrating when you work on them that you wonder what they were thinking when they designed them.

Tell me about it. From the day i brought it home, my Brute has been an absolute JOKE. I've had it since August, and it's been in the shop more than it's been at home (seriously). I just wish engineers would have ONE, just one coffee break with mechanics..... Might help clear a ton of stuff up.
