Yes, you CAN cook soup in a muffpot!

Rode the Snowies this weekend, had to give it a try. Put some chicken/sausage gumbo directly in the muffpot, and put a scrap from an oven bag over the top to seal it, then put the cover on. Never spilled a drop -- sure warmed me up nice in the cold/windy conditions we had up there.

I don't think it would work in a hotdogger though...

My maiden voyage with the muff pot was on Sunday in chin deep powder. I have it on my wife's stock 600 at the exhaust end of the expansion chamber...didn't warm up too much....just enough to thaw out a burrito wrapped in alum foil. Rode for about 15 to 20 mins. Need to move it to the front of the chamber after the Y-pipe, I think.
