Funny how a lot of people that ride this area don't consider this avalanche country. Have seen a few smaller ones in the last few years and have even broke a couple small ones myself, being aware what I was doing.

But this guy is one lucky young man, my boy and I had to clear the runout zone quickly as I watched this happen. I had rode across the bottom, eyeballing the hill, made one short run up and got the he!! off it, snow was pretty deep on it. I was thinking this wasn't a good time to be playing on Fiberglass Hill, when this thing broke. This guy and his buddies were very lucky, it was their LUCKY Day.

Be careful out there people, and for Pete's sake wear your avalanche tools, a ton of riders out there without even a backpack. Every steeper bowl we saw in the last 2 days had slid and would go again with very little provocation.

Rode north on Fri., in the drainage past Lake Creek there is a chute I rolled a sled down a few years ago, and a couple years later it slid as we were packing a track up off to the side of it to get up on top to play in some bowls, we had passed on that face that day, anyways, I noticed from the trail that it had been marked up in the last couple days, that's plumb damn crazy.

The third pic shows what a stupid place to climb looks like. No escape route in that valley if it slid.

Haven't been there this year yet. Damn near broke in my 07 M8 there. Snow looks a little sparse. Usually the burm is hanging over a bit more.

Proper gear is the key, and staying off that piece of ...

Skidoox600, what do you do at Bear Lodge? Just wondering if I saw you, would say hello next time. My boy and I had to hang out yesterday till 2 pm till the roads were opened up, had him in the back room doing 2 days worth of homework from springing him out of school thurs. and fri.:D

can you sday "terrain trap"

Yup, right on, thats where these guys were parked and highmarking when we rode up and watched, they moved over to where it slid shortly after that. I should have known better than to ride up in there to have a look see.

Funny thing, we rode back in Fri. and buddy stopped to look, there was 3 sleds highmarking the hill off to the left of the slide on the trail side of the hill, in and around the trees. I was thinking I didn't want to see it slide by those trees and run someone through them. No avy gear on them either!!

We rode up through the valley at the bottom of fiberglass on 1/18 and there was a pretty good sized cornice built up on top.

Yea, saw that slide on Thursday. We were climbing the trail side on Wed and it hadn't slid then. We must have came by not too long after it happened.
Saw a pretty good size group sitting on the trail side.

Glad everyone was ok.

Wallrock to hunt mtn

It is another area to be very careful in, I have seen where it has slid....
