Hey so i have a 12 assault 155, i do not have the slightest clue what the weights or gears are, so basically i was riding at 5000ft and i could only pull 7800rpm, The sled is a trenching monster and is worse in snow than my 08 renegade x was. Im wondering what set up really wakes these pigs up? I would like to keep the comp track and just set it up better, I will try putting the suspension on the up hole and possibly go one set heavier weights, cause it does not shift up enough.

if your only pulling 7800 rpm then you should go lighter weights i try to keep 82-8300 rpm on my 13 pro, if im right you would need to go at least 2 steps lighter.

take your belt off and then secondary figure out what primary spring you have and pry open the primary and read the # of grams on you weights
then take your secondary and unbult the helix on the back and remove and then check the colors of the spring and the helix #s

then.... we can try and help you figure out a starting point
good luck

I have 10-62s, but i found the culprit,

700 miles on the assault and she does this. I am a noob, so if you want that sucker to rev out or upshift quicker you want lighter weights?

oh yeah thats gonna make a big difference

yes and no on lighter weights lots of different options
gearing/primary spring rates/worn belt / deflection too lose

62s seem fine for 5000' they run 62s stock up to 7000' +
if you go too lite on your weights you loose shift force/belt sqeeze
so its a balance between clutches

probably the most popular clutch setups are
Carls and MDS but stock setups can be figured out as well

those comp tracks are trench monsters i'm sure you can fiddle with the susp. and get
it working better but that track is what it is
good luck

has anyone ran into issues with running the stock assault skid on the frt upper hole? will it hit the drivers ?

It shouldn't hit the drivers because that's the hole they run it in the pros if I'm not mistaken; but if you just pulled the shocks and bottomed it out with the skid in you'd sure know. It's a bit of work but so would be the fix of a skid slamming drivers.

Nope they won't hit. You're fine to run it that way. We switched both of my buddy's assaults to the upper hole and he hasn't had an issue all year.
