yamaha's new YXZ1000R sport side by side

New Yammy works good ! Love banging the gears. I raced my buddies new Razr 1000. He got me off the line first race but after learning the clutch and red line i can stay with him off the line and then pull away from him. Fit and finish are awesome unlike the Pooper. Suspension is a little stiff but i like it and it soaks up the ruts no problem !

Will be the machine to beat in the sand once the turbos get installed !!!

This with a dual clutch to it so you can bang through the gears when you want and just cruise like a RZR would be the ticket. They look incredible I thought in person but sitting in one made me decide to get the RZR as the cockpit felt better to me in that. Also I was not sure about having the manual transmission at this point. But if I was primarily in the dunes or more open areas I would want the Yamaha.

I only took a few pics. Interesting you thought the Rzr cockpit was better. I think the Yammy has much more room and the cluster is 10 times better than the Rzr. With a set of harnesses you will be part of the machine. The manual makes it much much more fun to drive. After a few minutes its like second nature.

The cluster does blow the RZR one away. It was a side to side thing for me was I felt the RZR 1000 wider, but I'm a bigger guy also. I guess I don't remember about which one had more leg room as both felt good in that respect. But the Yamaha has that bigger center console that the RZR does not so I'm sure that plays into it.

I think the shifting really depends on your use. I have a 700 Raptor, when you are out in the open with it (dirt roads, dunes) it rocks and banging through the gears is part of the fun. But when you get into tight trails or backwoods with it or stop and go riding with a large group of people I'd rather be on my Sportsman and not deal with the manual shifting.
