i just bought my yamaha in october, and the first fire up i did when i droped it off a my house and it has a cluch noise, this is with 0.4 kms on it, so i call the dealership and say, hey i just spent 14g's what going on with my cluch and i ended up taking to the machanic and he said that there like that all of them, and he said that it would go away after i put 500kms on it, so i got it to about 350kms and my brother used it to boondock for the rest and i was hopping that when he came back it would be gone, i go fire her up noise still there anyone esle having this problem?? because i dont want my sled at the dealership for a week and have them send it out the way it came in.

almost like the cluch is done for, lots of claking, like the weights are slapping
The clutches are quite noisy on these new triples. The clutches were noisy on the Vectors too. I think it has to do with the harmonics of the engine, if you listen to the engine itself it is so quiet that the only things you hear are the exhaust and the clutch. Mine is worse because I removed all the foam.

Ok Firecat99, I hear the same thing and was curious as well... I'm coming off a 04 Rev and I'm use to hearing that clutch. This is my first 4strokes and I've noticed I hear a lot of little odds noises now, like my track (Camo 2.25) a little flapping noise and the clutch, nothing is loose or broke. I just think the 4strokes engine are so quiet compared to 2strokes you are going to hear things you've never hear before. IMO.

Sly I think you´re on the spot! This engine i so silent that i have a clutch noise, a noise in the chaincase and when i boondocked the other day there was a crust on top of the snow so the skis where really loud. Can´t imagine why i didn´t have these problems on my triplebenderpiped Mountain Max!
I loaded up another primary clutch with heelclickers & it got way noisier then stock. Thats what they do.
Glad to hear that's normal. Wasn't real concerned but was gonna look into that noise.

vector motor did the same thing from day one it has got to do with the engine harmonics on the 3cylinder motor.if you put o rings on the bolts that hold the weights it helps allot but you have to replace them every 300-500 miles they wear out.

I'm at 707 and spinning 9,130 on the flats and about 8,650 in the pow on the hill. It should slowly start climbing. Mine has still been going up alittle with every ride.
thanks guys that makes me feel so much better, does anyone know any good cluch/helix combos on a flat lander i run at 0-2000 feet with a short track with 1.1/4 track yamaha rtx er just need a little better pull ive had my little brother run his friend down with my sled and he was riding 08 rev xp they were neck and neck from start to finish just need a set up for 660 feet for drags, and i cant use any of my cat parts witch sucks because there both 03s firecats 700 and there rockets for 660 race from day on and its very rare that we get beat and there both bone stock so if i can get some help of cluch/ helix combos that would be nice thanks.
