Yamaha Dealer in Vail, Colorado

I think it would be nice if we had a Yamaha Dealer in Vail, Colorado where I live. Then I wouldn't have to go all the way to Silverthorne, or Glenwood Springs, to get a brochure every year. I have to call to get one too. I could also see the new sleds when they come out.

Sure it would be nice, but I doubt it will happen. As you know retail space is not exactly cheap there. It would be hard for a dealer to stay in business. With dealers already in Glenwood Frisco, I would be surprised.

Also there is one right outside of Buena Vista. Also the silverthorne dealer pretty much sticks to retail prices most of the time so it's hard to get a break in price.

I sure wish we had a Starbucks in Crested Butte too, cuz that drive to Montrose for a Tall Carmel Frap is a killer. Colorado - especially VAIL is a rough place to live.

;-)

It'll never happen! Snowmobiling is taboo in Vail. Retail space is outrageous! Do you really want to pay increased prices on parts to have a dealer there?

Glenwood isn't that far and it's a heck of a lot nicer than Vail! If you want the best prices, I would suggest that you call Xtreme in Castle Rock (303-660-5302) and ask for Eddie or Scott! They are really good! If the part is in stock, you'll have it the next day (they ship UPS). If it's not in stock, Eddie will order it right away!

Most dealers have a mailing list. I get updates emailed and mailed to me.

LOL - that's like boat dealers fighting over turf in Arizona or New Mexico. Have you ever noticed that were people drink lots of coffee, Starbucks has a shop on every corner.

I think Cat or Doo will let you sell them out of the back of your truck if you can get the deals done - not sure if you'd be in business long though.

Chit, I think Vail has like 10 Starbucks and 3 of em are in the school!

That's it! I've had enough.

I'm opening a Yamaha dealer at the new Arrabelle in Vail.

We'll have fur covered seats, suede hoods, hot pink skis... Every sled will come with pack of carbon offsets equal to it's purchase price, an electric lift & winch on each light-weight Yami. We will operate a consierge service in case you don't want to be seen diging out - we'll do it for you.
You can even invest in a "fractional ownership/timeshare" garage-condo near the Eagle Airport to store your sled 11 months/year.

... and you'll have to pay 17.00/hr to park and brochures will be sold for 7.00/ea.
(all after spending 2hrs in traffic to get from East Vail to the Vail exit)

Vail. Gotta love it.

;-)

....and you'll have packs of ga-zillionaire Yami owners on Vail Pass looking around saying "Hey -Milton, where did did you get your helmet radio? Nice fanny pack." How did your get your wife's Yami into the Gulfstream G5?

haha.. that was good

the vail pass parking lot will be full of Porsches towing Nytros. It will be the only snowmobile dealership in Colorado that sells modular helmets

Hahaha

I live in Vail, (well really, in Minturn) and this is possibly the funniest thread I've read in a long time, especially the fur covered seat part...

Seems like several of the people on this thread have some intimate experience with Vail...at least it's not Aspen, although Minturn may be in 10 years (buy some now if you still can).

I've always wanted to trailer my sled to Vail and ride the mountain at night. Nobody would have a clue. It'd be pretty fun.

When I used to work there the sleds on the mtn were basically beat to hell by the employees jumping them over the catwalks all night (and back then they were these heavy 2-up Ventures that were carved from a solid block of lead). It was a blast.

Anyway, I'd be happy to open the Minturn dealership, but jeez is Summit County that far? It wasn't too far for me to go to pick up my Nytro!

I can see the parade of Cayennes pulling Nytros on the top deck of the parking structure right now...I never thought the Cayenne would succeed, but by God there EVERYWHERE up here...

Don't forget the leopard print one-piece snowmobile suit with fur topped boots!

Can you put a cappuccino warmer on a sled instead of a muff pot?

Vail

Funny, I live in Edwards myself. Seems everyone is stuck on the sales of these sleds. Most dealers make a big buck doing the repairs (especially manf. warranty claims) and mods of these sleds. There is one shop that I know of in the Vail area (Cat dealer in Eagle as well). That one shop is so busy that if you took your sled there, it won't get touched until spring. Plus, accessories make a ton of money. You should have seen the Xtreme shop in Dacono at Christmas. I think they got cleaned out in Klim gear.

Tivoklr, I think I saw your Nytro (blue?) cruising the back streets of Minturn on Wednesday. I do a lot of riding on Meadow Mtn and Red and White.

How is the snow at Red and White this time of year? I worked at Alpine Engineering for almost 10 years and I always wondered what the riding was like.

Do you park at the trailhead behind 4 Eagle?

That would be a bad idea. Ever since Two Elk happened about a decade ago, Security has been upped quite a bit on that mountain. Between them, snowmaking and the Cat crew, I am sure they would see you up there.
