Y use drop brackets?

The idea is to add ski pressure. Some feel that the king chassis has to much weight transfer. I personally don't like drop brackets, I think they ruin the deep snow handling of the chassis. What are you riding? There is a difference in rear suspension arms from king cat models and mountain cat models. The 04 mountain cat and 06 king cat have a shorter lower scissor arm then the 04 and 05 king cat. If you ride harder snow then you might want drop brackets. If you ride more mountain deep powder then I would not run them.

drop brackets

i ride a 04 900 mc 151, i was thinkin ski pressure or something to that effect. thanks for the info

rear arm

not sure witch arm, does it make a sh!t bitt of differance. what would it do for me.

It makes a difference. It adds ski pressure and reduces weight transfer. So basically it helps keep the skis on the ground.

why would i want that. witch ever one i have works great. i can line up on a hill with any sled(not turbod) and do what they do, same with the fluff. skis lift about a foot on hard pack, is that a bad thing. i dont know all the BS of this that or the other thing. i just grab throttle and sh!t happens. is ski pressure better in the fluff, i wouldnt think so but ive been wrong before, she told me i was. i ride only at cooke city, and there isnt a hill or valley that i cant do. would that arm be noticable. thanx for the info keep the info comin.

I like the weight transfer and light ski pressure. You need more ski pressure in hard packed snow. I like very light ski pressure in deep fluffy powder.

We dont get that DEEEEP utah powder, or like other places. Seems ta always be 1'-2' with a base. Had an 03.5 stock last year and though it worked well, noticed my tunnel was in the snow alot on the climbs. Goin "anywhere" is one thing... takin the SICK-N-NASTY LINE where every inch, ounce and pound counts is another. Gonna try the Sled-Junkies this year... made a noticeable difference on my tail height.

Have you done the tunnel mod? If not, get it done. It makes a HUGE difference in how deep your sled can dig before it gets stuck. The red sled in the pics on that thread is one of mine.

tail kit

i was thinkin of doin the bdx kit, but on here i see people do it with skidont bumpers and piece it to gether with AC part, etherway its on my todo list, ive talked to allot of sleders and they say do it, i think it would work plus it looks cool too. thanxs for all the insight, its greatly welcomed

I've always used them.

I trust Sledjunky. He know his stuff. I've alway thought that they kept the running boards from dragging in the deep snow.
Weight transfer? Boy if they're holding down the front end, then they're staying on. I've gone over backwards too many times.

I did the HRP drop brackets, going to drop the front to match to try to get the chassis out of the snow some more, or is this a bad idea? I'd drop the front 1" back is dropped 1.5"

Front of the skid ?
If so why? dropping them both the same you are going to ruin the attack angle of the track to the snow. May as well leave it stock !!
Both of my 900's are stock as far as drop brackets and front skid location. Add a powerclaw and do the tunnel mod. Goes through the DEEP like CRAZY !!

tunnel mod

hey rixter, if i do the tunnel mod with skidont bumper and AC foot/heel rest, what year or model would i use for the footrest. what would i use to cover the cooler

The back would be dropped .5" more then front. so front dropped 1" back 1.5"

It's goes pretty good with just the back dropped 1.5"

I already have the tunnel done, just need to trim the rails and add the rail gussets then put my 162" under it.

both photos of my sled mid season and then late season

I have a the piece to cover the cooler, I bought it from another member but didn't end up using it. $30 shipped if you want it.

Use 09 cat gussets. you will have to either grind down the ends so they will go into the rail edges or change your edges to 09 cat edges. I was going to do that but they wouldn't fit with the cutler snow eliminators. So I ground them down, slide them in and weld them. I used this piece from the one of the forum members also. I am building my own this year cause those cracked last year. I think it was just to thin. As for the bumper any xp bumper will work. they are all the same length.
