sled ran well..works well even with me on board (6'7" at 300+ riding weight) worked even better with Ralphy at the helm...in impromptu hill drags (2'+ powder) vs many a sled it held its own..beating most, running a close second vs the rest (name the sled, it ran it)...on the lake it faired even better...Today in 3-4 FEET of fresh Cooke blizzard powder it did verything well..I stuck it few times...(used to a 162/16/2.5 and a 200 hp triple-LOL)...the 160 spring caused 1/2 the sticks...I just weigh too much for this kinda snow...I wasnt the only sled getting stuck..saw many a MOUNTAIN sled w/s deep stuck...BJ

BJ,
You're running 8T drivers right? Can't see how you could run a 9 with the track, but curious...at a 2.04 ratio and that's some pretty tall gearing

Once you get a good clutch so you can actually run a turbo, Don't forget about the track.

We have really had some snow here lately. A couple of Turbo Yamaha's were out in armpit deep snow and they decided to turn back. One of the sleds had the 16 x 173 x 2.4 and was not having any trouble, but the other Turbo Yamaha only had a 15 x 144 x 2.4 and could not hardly move even following in the other sleds tracks.

So when you doo get a clutch on the T-Doo, don't forget we still need a track that isn't always stuck in the snow. Those short track fans will just have to stay home until March before they can run around without getting stuck.

It's big track time right now.

173 track?

What spring are you "winding stiffer than stock"?

the 4S QRS uses the old beige at about 12-14 lbs stock...1 more hole would be about 18-20 lbs...

Hair dryer is next

TRA5 with TRA4 gov cup...not worried...

stock drivers...24/50 or 51 is optional...but with reverse the counter gear "might" cause issues with that big of bottom gear..the gearing wasnt that far off...just my weight/146 track was the issue...if this snow was 2 days old it would have been completely different story...BJ

Thanks John,
A 2.25" track will fit in there with stock drivers then huh? Cool...didn't think it would with the Gade and Shorties without smaller drivers
Thanks for the info. I think we'll be talking later in the spring :)

This is what I wanted to hear, I have been thinking of getting a 1200 gade with a deep lug track but didn't know how they would hold up to the abuse of mountain riding, I only weigh 140 with gear so I would hope it would scream with me on it. I am looking for a replacement for my 440/800 rev or atleast something compairable with a more reliable motor. So what is the wet weight of the 1200 gade?

Stuck in the flat meadows in CookeCity right BJ ?

OT

Wow i am a believer i road that sled a lot and it is something else it just keeps climbing and with a turbo look out!!!! Thanks BJ MY 08 xp 860 is perfect i will post some pic soon. You can put me down for a 4stroke TB next year!!!!:D
