XP X vs. XP Everest

How can you tell the difference between the XP X and the XP Everest? I am sure that there are some easy ways to tell just dont know what they are. Any pics of specific items to look at would be great if its that hard to distinguish one from another.

A co-worker just purchased an XP and is not sure as to the model. Thanks for you help!

The X will have take apart shocks that are a screw system adjustment. The Everest will have black shocks that notch to adjust.

That is the easiest way to tell in my eyes

To me the easiest way to tell would be the gauges the xp-x have the premium gauges with the digital readout part of the speedometer being able to swtich modes to elevation and top mph top rpm, etc

Not to be a smart Azz or anything but the X models should have a big "X" in the decal on the hood and/or on the side panels.

Hey dont feel bad about the "x" comment. After not seeing an "x" yet not seeing anything that said "everest" he was a little thrown.

Sounds to me like the co-worker paid the "x" price and got an "everest". Shoulda done his homework!!

As you can see by the link below. If you can read the VIN number off the sled and title, you can figure out exactly what it is.

I think you should be able to do the same decode for a 2008, if you have the 2008 service manual. The ski-doo shop has one.

Just for example: my 08 XP Everest is 2BPSCT8A98V######,

2BPS Bombardier
CT8A is my model 154" XP 800 everest <--- you want
9 ?
8 is for 2008
V is assembly location

Some of you X guys put your vin number up. We'll figure this out.

Aren't the windshields different? X being small and everest being quite abit larger....that is if they have not been changed...
