Xp limiter strap/ Two wheel axle.

Hey guys. Have been considering loosening my limiter strap for some time. Wheelies are my favorite and being 6'3" and close to 240 with all of my gear on a stock xp (no budget for mods!) just doesn't add up to a wheelie machine. I could care less how this thing handles on the trails, because I try to avoid them at all costs and usually don't go faster than 30 mph anyways. I've heard that loosening the strap will help the sled get through powder and also result in some wheelies. Any input on this? The main reason I have yet to play with it is that I don't know how to adjust the track tension. I tried to find out how to do this from the owner's manual but that thing seems to be only useful for paper to start a fire. This is only my second year on a sled, and I'm used to manuals that come with my Yamaha dirt bikes, which will explain how to do everything in detail. This Ski-Doo manual is a joke! So any input on how to go about changing my set-up would be great.

I've also heard of people making homemade two wheel axle kits. I'm not interested in changing to big wheels (No budget) but figured if I could just delete the wheels from being on the outside of my skid I might be able to side-hill a little easier and get some surf city going. If anyone has some input or a link to a thread on this that would be awesome.

Just trying to do all I can for free to get this thing to handle better.

Thanks!
Garet

Lay sled on it's side and remove bolt from limiter strap . Adjust strap to desired longer holes and reinstall bolt. The more slack the bigger the wheelie. This however will suck bigtime when climbing anything biger than a mogul. As far as the 2 wheel kit I could not tell any diff in sidehilling after I installed it. Some say it helps. To adjust track tension you loosen the rear axle bolts ( the ones holding the rear wheeles on ) then turn the long bolts along the rails. Righty tighty lefty loosey. You can change your limiter strap adjustment without any need to adjust track tension. You can also remove the swaybar to help in side hilling.

I dont remember how your xp was setup but it two things that help are to have the skis on the narrow position and rotate the bars back a little. That will help get some of the weight off of the front end too. (you are standing slightly farther back) X2 on sway bar removal as well (if it is still there after the meeting with the rock?)

Sway bars were the first thing to come off when I started to fix the machine. I will play with my bar stance a little and see if I can't get some of that weight off the front.

Drop the front skid suspension mount by 7/8" and your sled will be a wheely king.
