XP CPI Single

First off I know ski-doo does a good job with their stock pipe but has anyone tried this CPI? 299 bucks. Does it come with a silencer?? It's not much more than a lightweight can. CPI claims 11HP with airbox mod.

I put one on an 07 xrs. It does climb better than my buddies stock xrs. I think they claimed close to 10 horse on it. Dyno port claims 4 horse and said anyone claiming more than that is full of it.
The only problem I have with cpi is they couldn't tell me what rpm the pipe was supposed to run at. The sled runs its best at about 7800. He told me he was just throwing more pin weight at it to make it pull harder. I told him he had to dyno it when he built it. Never seen a pipe builder who can't tell you what there pipe runs for rpm. They even build a turbo. I wonder if they know what that runs at.

The 800R motors are usually at there best around 8250-8400 -150rpm tach error, with about any combination from what I've been told.
The 04'-06' 800 H.O. were at 7800.

As for CPI $299, pipe only.
Couple hundred more for can, no HP gain, just weight loss-but it all helps.

I talked to a kid who had the cpi single pipe, timbersled intake, and team clutch. said he could hold 8200 all day long.
Said it kicked a$$. i may do the same to mine.oh and a bunus, the shovel now fits under the hood

Hey Ace, why does the shovel need to be on your back? I finally am able to mount it under the hood like previous revs with easy access and not have to constantly wear a backpack. I'd like to hear your reasoning.

i think his responce like so many others will be just incase of an emergancy .. on ur back it is quick access .. under the hood may not be as fast in some situations . ( avalanche etc)

CPI on 06 800HO X

On my 06 800ho I ran a HPS can for the first 2 years. I just put a CPI on it this year and there was a noticeable difference. Don't know about the 8hp gain they show in the specs. But any gain with a 5-1/2 lb. loss is worth it to me. The real reason I bought it was to be able to use my "Hotdogger".Hee Hee
It's for sale too.
Pipe+shipping-sled=$125.

As for the pack on your back; It's a must. I had to dig my own sled out this year. It was upside down half burried in a Avy. Your hands don't dig thru that cement packed stuff very well.

...you need to have a shovel, and probe, on your back at all times. Unfortunatly having a backpack on yourself is sometimes a hinderance, but in an emergency, i.e. avalanche, time is of the essence. Also, if you have ever buried your hood into a hole, you can't get to your shovel. I know alot of guys that carry two, one under the hood, and in their backpack. I wear a True North Adventue pack, and I feel naked without it. Just food for thought...

The CPI for 800R is a good pipe. Judging by the shape it likely moves the peak HP RPM down slightly, so 8-8100 would be my guess. HP gain is questionable, but they for sure drop a weight and sound sweet with the dual silencer. Only pipe I would buy for the Doo. Buddy has one on a '07 and it has run strong and consistant all year.

have a cpi pipe and can on 08 xp....actual weight loss was 15.5 lbs.....i used 500 main jets and shimmed the needle .030 richer....the pipe is supposed to run at 8050 rpm, which is 163 hp with the airbox mod (two florites on the flat surface nex to the gas tank)....the sled consistently outpulls a stocker, especially in a drag race, low and mid-range throttle response is quicker, and out climbs the stocker virtually every time.....as for the competitor who said no one can make that kind of hp over the stock pipe needs a slight correction.....HE can't make a pipe that makes 11 hp over stock....i don't work or have any employment affiliation with cpi....i do live near by, and have had them make several pipes for me for over 20 years....i stop by his shop 2-3 times a week when he's developing a new pipe and can verify both the dyno and on the mountain results

How loud is the pipe with twin silencer? I don't want anything that is obnoxious.

Sounds sweet with the glasspacks. The weight loss has to be your first reason for buying, hp gains are a bonus when it comes to cans and pipes. That's how I look at it. For me, I haven't found a pipe that tests consistenly better than the CPI. I know the Aaen makes the most power, the stock one is damn strong......but my own hillbilly testing of linin' em up with a buddy and swappin' rides for a few runs. I wouldn't put any other pipe on the Rotax 800's.

Ypipe

Have you guys also changed the ypipes. Does it help? With the CPI pipe set up can you run low elevation? I live in Minnesota will I have to put the stock back on to ride at home.

CPI pipe

Go to dynotech research and read all the independant testing they do. All makes and models. Pipes, heads, cans, porting, etc. They post the results. You might be surprised at what you find. The bottom line is, BRP does not leave anything "on the table".
