XP Clutch Clickers

I just picked up a new XP 163" and the dealer didn't have owners manuals when I picked it up. I believe I need to add clutch weight. When I floor it, it gets up to about 8400RPM's and starts cutting out. I'm assuming that this is because its hitting the rev limiter.

Can someone tell me how to a. add more weight with the clicker system and two how to tighten the belt c. how much slack should there be in the belt?

The sled has about 100 miles on it now, when does the motor on this sled "wake up". So far my my 06 900 poo seems to have more grunt.

Thanks in advance for your help.

see where the clickers are and drop 2 #'s ..should drop about 200 rpms per #,,needs to run 8000 to 8200 at the most,,to add weight to the pins you have to disassemble the clutch and put longer set screws in the pins..belt tightens by loosening the lock bolt in the center of the secondary and take the tool with 2 pins on it and back the adjuster collar out ..maybe 1 turn and re tighten the lock bolt and try it.

My 163 overreved, same as yours. At hardware store I bought the shortest metric setscrews they had. ( about 1/4 in.) and the two next longer lengths. The pins are now full with three threads of the last setscrew sticking out. This is almost 4 grams. On clicker two, 8100 rpm at 4500 ft.

So I need to get different set screws? Do I need to go the dealer to get them. I thought it was as easy as "clicking" the clickers.

Thanks for your help.

So far the sled has worked great, the belt seems to have a bit of slack in it. How do I tighten it?

At what mileage have people started to see these motors come alive?

what altitude r u at if u r in the flatlands like me u need to get solid pins plus with ur 163 u will run out of gearing at around 80 to 90 mph. after like 4 hrs i think is when the motor is suppose to wake up.

I generally ride 7500ft and up. Ride allot in the Wolf Creek, CO area which at the top is 11,000 to 12,000. Any suggestions on what clicker number I need?

How easy/difficult is it to change the clicker setting? I'd like to set it to clicker 2 and see how she goes. changing the gearing might help too... Can someone walk me through the process?

Thanks

IKOLD, if you do not know how to change your clickers then you better sit down and read up on these sleds before you go any where on it!

run 8200-8300! Someone on here(or Dootalk)mentioned that these tachs on Doo are reading high!
