XLT gas milage???

About how many miles approx. do you think you can get out of a xlt 600 full tank of gas? Also my wifes 488? We're new to snowmobiling so not sure how these sleds do for has milage...don't want to go to far and realize we won't make it back.

Trail cruising you can get about 90 miles. Playing in powder look for about 60 miles.

If they are tuned up good they should get more than that, but those numbers are conservative. My XLT would go quite a bit further than the other guys I rode with, so we were limited to their fuel supply.

Wow I didn't realize they had that much milage on one tank. WHat about the air cooled 488 motor? I read somewhere the downfall on those motors was gas milage?

my son has a 97 488 and he has rode up to 80 miles on a tank with a combination of on and off trail. could get a few more miles with a conservative rider

The older 488's may not have had as large of a tank either. I think there for a while 9-10 gallons was a tank full, compared to the new sleds that will hold closer to 12, so range is not to be compared equally I guess.
