X3 or 2.6 powerclaw

Hey guys been looking for a new track to put on my 11 assault rmk thinking either the camoplast x3 or 2.6 powerclaw. I can get the powerclaw for about $750 and a x3 for $1000 so I'm leaning alittle towards powerclaw but I've a lot of good things for the x3 I need all the advice I can get ha

I'm in the same boat, leaning towards the pc 2.6". As the 3" seams to run hot when not on just powder.

I have run both and they both do great in the powder with slight edge to 3x. I think the powderclaw is better in set snow and on the trail. For all around I would pick PC

Love my X3 but I have not put any seat time on a Pro with the new PC track. In fact, I have not seen any conversions using that track yet. Lots of X3s on the snow in my area. I have observed some minor differences in cooling but nothing major. It does gear you down quite a bit. Trail speed is limited. I am not sure but I would guess that top end is down 10 to 15 mph with the X3 running the seven tooth drivers. I am not a trail bomber so it doesn't bother me at all.

i have ridden both, and in my opinion the X3 is the best bang for the buck mod you can do to a pro. We ride deep snow, and tree ride 90% of the time, but the X3 has been working great in set up snow as well. The power claw has no breaking power down hill and spins A LOT more upon take off from a dead stop than the X3 does, the X3 seems to get up on top of the snow much faster as well.

Only ride trial if It gets me to the good snow, couple spots are 15-20 km of groomed road. Kind of sux but the pow is worth the road ride.

As a fellow sledder I would saw x3, but the competitor in me says do the PC so if I ever see you in the hill I don't have to worry about you beating me. ;).

The x3 track is amazing. I would spend the extra 250!

11 assault

If you are going with a X3 you will have to roll the chain case. I have one and I will say, it is awesome. The traction is incredible. IF you don't want to roll the case, then the 2.6 is your best bet. I am going another direction with my 11 assault. I have the new track than came off my 14, I am going to put the new track on with a 858 kit.
Can you say hello track speed?

I rode the x3 last year and beginning of this year

currently running a 174x2.5CE, the 3" makes a lot of windmill noise above 40 MPH, it hooks up but leaves a huge hole for the person behind u, it throws huge grapefruit sized snowballs at the person behind u, the down hill braking Authority is awesome. it catches an edge in a hard corner id not under power, it likes to wheelie when hooking up, exemplified on boosted sleds, cannot zip down the trail, top speed is probably about 50-55 mph, on hard snow even with scratchers there are issues with cooling because it sits so high, and on Ice it is absolutely worthess. I've never ran a 2.6Pc, have tons of time o the 2.25 and it was a very good all around track. it always got up on the snow great with a properly setup skid.

It's a good thing I am not behind me... The wheelie is true, and it is so much fun... The acceleration and braking is awesome. I have had it to 75 several times, seems to hold up good under the conditions. I don't have boost, but $ for $, it is the best pro upgrade you can get. I like boon docking, I don't think the 174 would do as well, and I know I would have space issues in my 4 place.

couldnt agree more, and on mine through adding zbroz hd rear springs and tuning the rear suspension a little better the wheelie is completely controllable i think more so than stock. i have had mine over 75 on the trail many times with no issues and with the 858 powering it my track speed in powder is 55+ with no issues. I haven't seen any cooling issues at all with mine either... nor have any of my customers. It is in my opinion the best bang for the buck upgrade you can you do to a Pro!

how does the 2.6 pc compare to the older 2.25 pc other then taller lugs (ha ha). My 13 pro launches hard on hard pack and in the deep well lets just say ive dug out more stuck PCs then 5.1s. I know its not always the tracks fault but I do feel they like to trench more then the 5.1. Sorry if im off topic but just looking for info.
