Wtf is the deal with the grooming on stampede?

I've been at stampede for 3 weeks, and its only been groomed 2 times. I sat and watched the click click trail get groomed 4 times each day. It's ridiculous that we pay so much to register our sleds and 'some' of it goes towards grooming and the roads been worse than a whoop section at a supercross race......anyone have any Intel on why this is?

here's the scoop,

Well its not cold like it was all thru part of dec and and most of january, Grooming cut down to 3 times a week this season do to the short fall of sleds registered and gas tax money, Now that the temps are warmer , the grooming doesnt hold up like it did when it was constantly cold. Nothing has changed this season except the weather the past couple weeks. Just the facts folks. On another note the click clicks chose to increase their fees a lot a few years ago. They now have an abondance of money and get lots of grooming on their ski trails. Believe it or not , these are the facts

I hear ya. It wasn't pretty today. Just missed you btw. We went about halfway up to Freeway hill and turned around. I was beating the crap out of the kids. Went to lost lake and they burned gas all afternoon there..... Smooth.
You had just left when we stopped at the cabin.

Lost Lake

Rode Stampede Pass and NW to Loser Ridge Yesturday. Looked north down into Lost Lake and saw lots of sled tracks traveling across the center of the frozen lake. Nice day of riding on spring snow. Unless they have groomed the main roads up Lost Lake, i would be prepared to wear a Kindney Belt (Lol) Have fun.

I would be willing to pay $10 every time I went to a sno-park to help fund the grooming!!

Yes lost lake is still frozen enough to ride on.

3 times a week? My friends live on the trail, the trail was def not groomed that many times in the last 3 weeks. I hope it picks up. It's a killer on the body.

Across the highway at gold creek they groom in the heat of the day instead of groomin when the snow is cold.

If they can get there's raised what would we as snowmobilers need to do to get the ball rolling?

Fri night grooming, smooth ride into the playgrounds. Sat mid afternoon grooming for a smooth ride after a hard days excursions.

We do groom 3 days a week up there, but that doesnt mean the lost lake road gets it 3 times, 3 days a week is for the entire stampede to easton to lost lake to tacoma pass, Micro waves, weather station, lizard lake ect system, They usually try and get out there (lost lake ) once for sure and usually 2 times a week, but I can tell you ( and I'm not making up excuses) now that the warm weather is back the trails are not going to hold up very well, We have 32 hours a week to do the entire system, WSSA is woriking on the sled registration $ increase, sno park fee and the gas tax lid removal, it's a tough battle but they are on it. We cant do anything with legislation thru the state, Everyone remember, we were down to nearly an all time low on sled registraitions last season which is money we spend this season !! Just the fact folks. Anyone who knows me, knows I give it to ya straight and honest.

grooming

I don't ride at stampede, but most of the places I do ride (Blewitt, Gold Creek, Gallager, etc. ) the grooming has been great this year. Hats off to the groomers from me

LETSGOSLEDDIN ??? WTF ???

Are you serioulsy kidding me,?? we get raped on our fees, $ 30 a friggin year and we are getting raped ?? It's just about the cheepest license fee in the entire country, Every dime of our money goes into our own motorized winter program, Every friggin dime, nothing into the black hole in olympia. you have to remember we have over 100 snoparks thru out the state of washington and every grooming area needs more money to do an adequate job. Maybe you have not noticed how bad the economy has been the last 3 to 4 years, It's hit my business terribly. Fuel prices, lost jobs, lower wages ect ect. A lot of people have sold their sleds for now till they recover, Other than new years weekend, I've seen a drastic decrease in vehicles in the parking lots the last couple years. Just my opinion thats why we have less sleds registerd

I guess I got raped this year cause I bought a sled and had to transfer registeration. I dont mind paying the fees esp when it goes to the groomer. Don't get me wrong. I too ride gold creek and I know last year it was kept up pretty good.

It's the WA use tax that is the killer. ****in 9.5% on fair market value on a used sled!!
He!! Double the reg fees at least and double the grooming $ but don't tax me on something that's been taxed already.

Maybe they can shift some of the $$ from the full-time parking lot attendant that camps out at Stampede all day, all weekend.:face-icon-small-con
Is that really necessary to have law enforcement telling people where and how to park? Even when it's not busy? It has been rather entertaining for our group lately...lol. All of a sudden after 25+ years of parking we have been doing it wrong the whole time.
Anyone else having issues with that guy?

I agree with the parking lot attendant. Hell on sat there was 2 of them driving around the lot. I bet none of the money that comes from the tickets they write goes towards the snopark!

ANd def the re-taxing of a used sled is outrageous, we should have to only pay a standard fee then they should annotate on there a fee that goes directly towards grooming.
