Almost 2 1/2 months ago I did a favor for a guy that uses these forums quite a bit! He wanted to move here from Wyoming and get a job with a snowmobile tour company. He was asking about places to rent and I gave him my boss's phone No. cause I knew that my boss had a condo for rent. I vouched for him and they gave him a really good deal and he has never paid the rent.

My boss went to his new job and asked to see him. The manager of his new job said that he had asked for a $600 advance to pay the rent. He dissappeared! He had told my boss that the old job (tour Co, in which he lasted only 2 weeks) had never paid him and the new job had accounting errors and they hadn't paid him in 4 weeks. After speaking with the manager of the new job my boss found out that he had, in fact been paid on time every other week since he started.

The manager of his new job and my boss have now called the local Sheriff's Dept. and the local PD. My boss is out 3 months rent and the manager of the store where this kid worked is out $600 for the advance. This kid swore that he wouldn't screw me and that he was a honest, good guy!

Well, he lied! If he doesn't show up in the next couple of days I'm gonna post his username, his real name and the 2 places that he worked at here in Steamboat. I know he gets on this site a lot and he'll see this post!

All I can tell him is he had better pay up and watch his a$$ cause the place where he worked has pressed charges for theft!

I'm sorry that someone took advantage of you like that man. It's B.S. that he did that to you.

It's tragic that someone like that will leave a bad taste in a lot of other's mouths. We have a great network of guys that can use each other for help, but a guy like this is going to make others more hesitant to help out a stranger. "Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me" It's too bad...

I hope he mans up PJ and things can be taken care of like a good man would.

Fortunately it didn't cost me any money! But I don't think that my boss will be accepting any tenant recommendations from me anytime soon! From the way it sounds, this guy hightailed it outta here w/o taking his stuff with him. Boss went to the condo and found a bunch of clothes, CDs, cell phone and laptop.

He was at work on Friday afternoon. Boss went to his condo on Sat. morning! Sure the kid went riding! No answer on the cell phone. Didn't check on him Sunday. Boss is heading up there today!

Why skip on rent for 3 months! And take an advance from work and then skip. He was supposed to work on Sat. but we had a massive powder day on Sat! No phone call to work. Really weird! He lied about not getting paid for months! My boss is really caring and understanding and will help out anybody, but skipping 3 months rent is pretty shady if you ask me, especially if the guy is renting the condo out to you for hundreds under what the market is averaging, just cause I referred him as a "friend"

i agree ^^^^ there is something up with the kid. i know when i was that age i wouldnt just leave behind the stuff i worked hard to own. he has been on here with posts about riding. he is around, just need to be at the condo at the right time. try sitting there on the block waiting for him to show up. he has to go back sometime.... don't get me wrong, i would be pizzed myself & maybe i'm just to nice but there has to be a reason for all of this imho...
