WTF!!! All metric now?

In the automotive field, 12 mm ,14 mm & 17 mm wrench sizes are common on Japanese vehicles while domestics use 13 mm, 15 mm & 18 mm alot. I've used metric so much for so many years, I prefer it.

Sent from my iPhone when I should be working.

japs are smarter, they shave weight and material cost using 1mm smaller hex.europeian manufacturers are heading this way slowly.hoping poo has fired the crew who picked bolt sizes and bolt types on 05-10 sleds.those were a nightmare.

(lol) about time you guys need to get with the rest of the world ;) Mind you 20 years of shaping surfboards and I still have to know both:face-icon-small-dis

i own a auto repair shop and unless its something from the 80's or older your gonna be in the metric drawers. even the mid 80's stuff is half and half. but hey you can always use a 5/16 for a 8mm, a 7/16 for an 11mm, a 1/2 for a 13mm, a 9/16 for a 14mm, a 5/8 for a 16mm, a 3/4 for a 19mm, a 13/16 for a 21mm.

If you think having SAE and Metric mixed is bad, try working on old English crap - Wentworth, what a useless set of tools.

I think poo skis use a 15mm bolt head with a 16mm nut...

Cats new sled has taken the ISO thing to the extreme...but it's still heavy. :face-icon-small-dis

Team clutch parts and my EPI puller are SAE everything else metric....

Personally, I'm a fan of metric.

wonder if the crank pto end is metric now? fyi cresent wrench is now an ajustable spanner

I teach Science so it makes perfectly good sense to me to use metric. Much easier conversions all factor of 10, don't believe me can you answer the following? How many Yards in a Rod? Rods in a Furlong? Furlongs in a Mile? Those are all measurements of length in the US system. That is crazy stuff?
What if my pro was going 143 Furlongs an hour! Dude I was screamin, I think!!

Don't tell me how long your Furlong is - I don't care. WTH is a Furlong!

Becuase metric is better! HAHA I love that one !

ITS NOT BETTER Its the rest of the worlds standad so its only easier since the make everything now. Metric became better about the same time we sold out manufacturing in this counrty. strange Coincidence?:face-icon-small-con

Nah, they are all just cheaper!! Going to 16mm heads where there used to be 17. Why? To save METAL!

Or havent anyone heard the price of steel keep going up?

Be aware, Chinas economy has been growing FAST lately. Their standard of living is going up and they want more.
Fact: there is not enough metal in the world to allow every chinese access to a fridge.

Back on topic: Poo going metric = Oh happy day :musicnote:

Way to go Polaris by going metric, but why with China made parts!

Going metric is the way to go, but not made with China parts! I know we live in a global economy and we shouldn't rely on only American products, but why? Come on Polaris! Let's not get to greedy here because some of us still would like to have a mostly American Made Polaris product. I took a look at my new 2012 Pro RMK and even the velcro electric covers say made in China. It makes me wonder what else is made in China? If we want to continue to ride in the future, then we as consumers better start buying American made products.
