thanks for the update. I am going to try and stick with the 530hcx. Got my eye on a couple of them around the 300 range. I am trying to keep things very similar so there are duplicates of things. Avy gear is all the same, and so should this thing.

Let me know what you think about the performance. I have still had trouble with my 530hcx loosing position when riding in deeper forests with my motorcycle.

That is correct. I just ordered 2 new ones from there.......ouch, that hurts...but 2 of us riding doubles the costs for this sport. Should be seeing them soon. Also got some mounts that were recommended from a fellow SW member (from eBay, but they are Garmin mounts), and the SD micro cards from Amazon.

The refurbished ones are the cheaper units. Note that they don't have any of them in stock right now.
