I found a store in BC that has the 5 watt version as opposed to the Canadian 2 watt.I was going to try and negotiate a price if we bought a couple but I think they will still be in the 500 can range plus shipping.

Best deal I have found so far. Even with shipping and border costs it works about the same as a CND unit but has the 5 watt radio.

I got my 530 new in the box on ebay lookup "digital oasis" he has an auction start every 1\2 hr great deal paid 220 shipped
Is that for an HCX?????

I agree, something wrong there. Maybe a reconditioned unit.

Anyone on here have a Canadian bought unit?I think it is a user programable change to make it transmit at 5 watts.Let me know and I will pm you the instructions to try!!!

but i take my laptop everywere so its no big deal just load the area topo and any tracks
I cant believe people are selling them so high on ebay when you can buy a new one for 380$. Especially when walmart is selling them for cheap, who doesnt have access to a walmart? I was hoping to find a good deal on ebay but they are not even close.

When I click the link it takes it to the 530 HCX version. And YES as mention above that deal was for a refurbished one.
I think I am going to order the one from walmart as it still appears to be the best deal for a new one. The refurb. may be fine but it might also be a huge headache, not that a new one guarantees no problems.
GL-Just posting what I have come across as there are very few used ones for sale. I occasionally check ebay and their prices are way out to lunch. Same with beacons, I did find a pieps 6.2 with a 90$ rebate and snowbigdeal matched it so I plan on ordering that as well.
I just read the form and the unit has to be new for the rebate.

You could always contact Garmin and see if they would apply it towards a refurb.

I just ordered the refurbished one. Paid $299 out the door.
No $50 rebate.
Talked to Garmin and said refurbished are repaired with all new items and the latest software. They are repaired by hand and have a 1 year warranty.
Amazon has them for 365 new rebate eligible and free shipping.
Taxes here are over 9% so the company pcnation offers the best since they only charged 5% "service charge for California"
