Washington Deer Hunting Seasons

2010 Washington Modern Firearm Deer opens Sat Oct 16

2011 Washington Modern Firearm Deer opens Sat Oct 15

It is too bad that there would be a conflict between Salt Lake and Puyallup, but I believe that Puyallup is the bigger show and if it is at all possible to not have it conflict with opening day of rifle deer season would be the best for show attendance.

I understand what you are saying here but what about the SLC show. If they were bigger, would you want them to do that to us? It is unfortunate that the weekends clash but the vendors need to get to as many of these shows as possible. You have to remember that the snow selling season is short, about 4 months. I know, there is always an exception but year after year Sept through Dec is the selling season. Here's a worst case scenario, what if the vendors choose Salt Lake over us?

I uderstand what you're seying but Idaho has something like 55,000 registered sledders and around 8000 go to the show. It is always during elk season so nobody goes. They come here!

If it's important enough to the hunters to go to a show they can travel but it would be nice if they could work it out for us hunters. No show for me, I'll be in the mountains.

Sorry Dan, as you know you will never please us all, just make the smartest business decision and go with it. Eric

I think it's more important to make sure the vendors can be at both salt lake and here. No vendors=nothing to buy for anybody.

Hunters choose to be in the hills that weekend and thats cool but vendors only have 3 or 4 shows to go to and not making it to one could really hurt them.

Either way works for me. I'll either hunt Saturday through Friday or hunt Monday through Sunday.
My list is started as well. Gotta get my boy a new sled so he quits wanting to ride mine or my Bro's.

Yes, Puyallup is a bigger show than SLC. BUT SLC already has their dates chosen. To me, it would a bad move to NOW choose that same date. It just doesn't seem right to make the vendors choose between the 2 when one show already has a set date..........

And yes, I'd like Puyallup to be extended to ATLEAST a one week long show! ;)

Somebody actualy answered the question. Does that mean a gold star for Nike?:D

uhh no because that is the opening day for the 2009 season. The question was when is the opening for the 2010 season, which chief answered at the top of this page. Gold star to Chief :)

I vote for 3rd weekend in October as is usual and not mess with the SLC show

If there are no vendors, what's the point of having the show?

I say make it the weekend b4, there may be a lot of sledders that hunt, but there are also alot that don't. I'd rather have as many vendors at the show as possible!:beer;:D

no that weekend is taken

like I said there are not to many dates available, we are at the fairs mercey and ski doo, polaris, yamaha and arctic cat, Remember we have to have them in there and they have very busy schedules that time of year.

I'd rather hunt opening day. But I also think it's better to have more shows not on the same weekend. Go with what's better for the vendors. I'll be hunting everyday unless I get more work.
