I installed a set of WRP wide board on my XP this weekend. They look awesome and really stiffen up the boards. Thought I'd post a few pics of the final product.

Those look great. I was also interested in a set myself. What's the difference between the wide vs. the regular & why are the wide boards more that double the price?

You dont happen to know the weight difference between those and just the stock running boards do you? And do you actually cut the existing boards off? Thanks!

I have some pics of some better boards next to the WRP wide boards. This whole install began as a Better Boards install that went wrong (because of my stupidity). Here are the pics that I have taken:

I traced the outside of the Better Board when I should have traced the INSIDE of the board windows. I didn't realize this until I had already cut one board off and almost went into some severe depression at the thought of effing up my sled before the snow even fell.

From their website:

The WRP Mountain Tuff Running Board kits come complete with T5052 aluminum running boards, rivets and drill bit for easy, trouble free installation (simply follow the included instructions). Running Boards are manufactured utilizing CNC laser cutting technology for superior accuracy and fit. They also feature higher rise attractive mountain scenes up the tunnel sides for additional tunnel strength. Only top quality powder coatings are used in all WRP Products to ensure a long lasting scratch resistant finish.

UPDATE:JR from WRP emailed me and said they are 8.6 lbs with the raw aluminum finish and all the hardware.
I guess i'm just hoping someone would make some out of say 14gauge material???? Thanks for all the leg work guys!

Great video!

Now I understand why they cost so much!

These just may be the ticket! :face-icon-small-coo

Just giving my .02 on these. I bought a 2011 146x from a guy with 4 miles on it and he had put these on it. I thought sweet!!! Wrong:( I love the added width of them and the snow clearing but man are they weak. I know i am Fat but not that fat. 6'4" 235lbs. But these things are bent down over and inch in the middle. They really need to make these with thicker base material or get some L braces that go on the inside of the tunnel and come out under the part where you stand. So i guess i can't complain too much cause they were basically free for me but after seeing these i would NEVER buy a set unless they could make some out of thicker material.

Hopefully they provide more support than the regular WRP boards. I have them on my sled and I have a good 2-3" of sag in my running boards. It looks horrible. They definitely dont add any strength.
