WRP Mountain Tuff Running Boards

Even with the new improved running boards on the 2010 MTX SE, I am still having significant problems with snow and ice build up.

A friend of mine who is running a turbo SE has installed the WRP Mountain Tuff Running Boards on his sled and loves them.

I am looking to see if anyone else can back up his positive experiences with their own?

When I look at the WRP website they list the boards for 2007-2009 Nytro MTX, but do not list the 2010, or the SE. Whether or not he modified the boards to fit his 2010 or not, I don't know. Didn't think to ask him the other day when I saw it.

The boards "look" like they should do the trick nicely.

I have the same issue. Neither WRP or Better Boards lists an application for the 2010. I suspect it is because of the tunnel braces being on the inside of the tunnel instead of the outside like the 2008-2009 models.

After some good powder riding, I found most of my issue with snow build up was in the foot wells and after looking at where the tunnel bracing ends, I think I may open up the OEM running boards in the foot well area and maybe fabricate a plate that goes over the top of the running board in that area.

If you find out any more info from the WRP boys, please let us know. I have two buddies riding older Nytros with their boards installed and they do work extremely well.

I have fired off a PM to SnoWest member "Mountain Assault Seats" who is listed as the contact person for Wasatch Recreational Products on their web site.

As soon as he replies back, I will let you know.

Because of the difference between the 08-09 and the 2010 with the tunnel reinforcement, I'd like to see some pics of what they are doing on the 2010 for removing any of the "stock material". I have a set of 2010 pre-production Better Boards and they were not going to work without severly compromising the integrity of the tunnel.

I am just trying to be clear on the difference between the 08-09 vs the 2010 with where the tunnel bracing is. There is no "fish bone" on the exterior part of the tunnel on the 2010, the support is on the interior/underneath part of the tunnel.

Make sense? Install pics on a 2010 would probably get out my checkbook right about now ;)

I think part of the difference between the early and late style nytros is the angle of the board in relation to the tunnel. The new style is angled up and I believe that the earlier is more like a 90 degree angle.

I think anyway LOL

Working on getting a set of these.
When they arrive, I will do a full photo shoot of the installation and post a thread here on SnoWest documenting the process.

I have my 09 and 10 side by side in my trailer.
Let me take the heater out there and melt off the snow and ice and I will try to get a side by side photo of the two boards for comparison.

Verdict???? pictures????

I have written and written and written again to these guys trying to get the set of boards made.

But they have not replied to anything I have sent them in the last 6 weeks or so.?

Just ordered a set as well, had way to many problems with the snow and ice, had to bring a pry bar in the truck just to break out the ice that builds up in the foot wells and ruined a pair of boots kicking the bottom of the rails trying to break the snow and ice out....

I spent months trying to get them to make me up a custom set in Yamaha Blue. I finally gave up. I am going with the new Skinz Tubular boards.

the only thing i see on those board i dislike is the front support . it looks like you could get youre foot stuck in there if you need to bail . i left the factory ones on when i did my cr tunnel install and had that problem. im much happier with out them .
