Wood Pellets/Prices?

The plant here in Kremmling manufactures them for Wal-Mart. I saw them for $4 and change a bag at the Frisco store last week.

Probably your best price as it would get more expensive the farther the shipping is. Just a thought.

There is also a plant in Walden but I don't know much about it.

Good luck.

Ya I paid $4 a bag from my bro when he hauled a semi load out of Kremmling
probaly my best deal. The wal-mart in Steamboat wants $6.50 a bag.

The pellets from the Walden plant seem to be much better in my stove than the Kremling ones (less ash in the stove and less saw dust/ junk in the bag). The Walden one's can be bought for about $4 a bag if you shop around and buy a pallet or more.

FYI, the Kremmling plant takes a crap load of shortcuts to produce them. I worked there very early in 2009 and I saw what went on. If a batch failed, they just dumped them back into the hopper and sent them back through the die. Pellets were bagged too dry and they crumbled when put in the stoves to be burned. Plus they store them outside and they'll sit outside for months before being shipped anywhere.

I did see them for $4 a bag at Frisco though.

Walden plants are what is considered a true premium pellet. That is why you get less ash from them.

Is there anywhere to get them on the front range? I'm not eager to haul tons of pellets down unless there's no option.
I currently use Heartland or Eureka which are readily available in Conifer (where I live). But at $6 a bag and change, I'm looking for alternatives.

The Home Depot in Evergreen has the Heaters brand from Show Low, AZ for $214.50/ton and I was at Costco in Superior last night and they had the same ones and same price. These burn better in my stove than the Kremmling ones. I have not tried the Walden ones.
