Wolf Creek info?

Would like to make a trip to southern CO. Seems like Wolf Creek has the decent snow at this time.

How big is the area? Can you only ride the trails there?

What about lodging? Where do stay where to unload?

Any info is great. Thanks

The reason I said that is from another thread where someone said sleds have to stay on the trails because of the skiers...

We are only interested in back country riding. No trails.

now I get it, that is just in one area that is designated for skiers, there is plenty of back coutry riding

stay in pagosa springs
trails ? there are some but you can ride off trial in most areas very little is closed for skiers.

The summit area is not that big but the snow is awesome and more on the way so the park creek and tucker ponds areas should be good soon too that opens up alot of riding.

Wolf Creek parking/riding areas

Can anyone tell me where I can park, I have a 82 foot rig its fully contained so wherever we park we will be staying the night and riding from there. Highways, mile markers parking area names would be great. Also, we are not familar with the area so maybe some riding area tips as well. We ride all back country. Thanks

At the summit. Only place on the pass for a rig like that. But please park so others can to. Just saying I've seen some nonsense in that lot on weekends.

Is Pagosa springs the best place to get a map of the area and also non resident stickers for our sleds?

Does anyone know if there is a good guide for wolf creek pass? We are heading there for the first time after christmas. We usually ride buff pass but are gonna try somewhere new. Any info is appreciated.

Sounds like wolf creek is one of the only places to ride good snow right now. Is it worth a 18 hour drive to go and ride?
