Williston and Bakken oil fields

So what is the take on the Williston area oilfields?? Curious if the current work being done there is just a flash in the pan or will continue for a few or many years to come??

I think there will be plenty of work for years to come. Been hauling out to that part of the state fro 2 years and no sign of a slow down. Sounds like there looking for help.

its definately not a flash in the pan, there is a lot of oil in the bakken and three forks formations. It was very slow this time last year, there was a lot of rigs stacked, but now things have turned around and there are lots of permits to drill. There is a lot of work, and a number of companies are hiring, but as far as drilling rigs go, once the wells are drilled, thats it. There is work but this is the last go around for oil drilling in North Dakota.

oh yeah

There is gonna be drilling and work going on for years in western nodak. Actually once a well is drilled the work is just beginning it takes alot of different service and trucking companies to keep a well running. I live on the northern edge of the williston basin and dangit i sure hope they puch a few holes on our land.

you are correct that once a well is drilled, the work is just beginning. But, as far as Drilling rigs go, once the wells are drilled the work is done. After the wells have been drilled the work is done with re-entry rigs, pulling units, coil tubing and so forth.

yeah there is a lot of work, ive worked out there for the last two years, currently working 40 miles north of killdeer.

Plenty of jobs in Dickinson and Killdeer too. Just hard to find a place to stay.

I work at National Oilwell and we are looking to hire. Just sucks that most that apply can't pass a drug screen or have felonies.

I think this boom will last at the very least a year.

we have 6 more rigs that are suppose to be here by july, makes a total of 15, not sure how long its going to last hopefully 3-5 years i would think

EOG, Petro-Hunt, Continental, Whiting, St. Mary, Marathon, Questar, Cirque Resources, XTO Energy, Zenergy operating, Hess, Encore operating, Brigham oil and gas, Hunt, Slawson exploration, and a bunch more. Lots of work going on right now in North Dakota.

still busy

ive been hauling crude oil for five years and never had a slow day even when oil was at 29 a bbl its gonna last a good five years yet pretty good living to make 80 to 90k a year
