Will This Blow Up My Engine!!!???

why would it matter if the oil mixed together or not...wouldn't it just use the heaviest oil first then other oil once it was all gone?

that's exactly what i was thinking, i don't see why so many people seem to get there panties in a bunch about mixing oil when as long as the oil injector can pump the oil i don't see why it matters if it starts using a different type of oil after it burns through the bottom layer. i don't know if i am missing something here or not ..

If ur really worried just premix a bit for that tank full..it may no run as good but safty first....just like break in..

The difference beetween oils is the aditives. Blue marble is a mineral oil that is really compatible with nothing. The good thing however is that there is a little procedure that should have been done when the original owner switched to blue marble, assuming this was done the cylinder walls will be impregnated with blue marbe. That means that if either of the oils additives are not compatable that the effects will be much slower. Long story short I would say your fine but I wouldn't keep doing it. I do work in an oil refinery and have access to all kinds of oils and lab test results. It may not destroy a motor over night but it will speed up the process if they are incompatable. I have also mixed oils in a pinch. It can be done and you may luck out and get two that are compatible which is often the case, but mineral oil sucks for compatability!

Well Alright:D

I am going out riding today with Yami in the injector and my panties not in a bunch.

Anyone want to ride today, tomorrow, Sat, Sun, Mon....

Some oils don't mix well, but I find this to really only be a problem with highly modded sleds. You should be fine! I know there is, or was, a complex thread on here about what oils can be mixed and what should be avoided. I haven't read all of the posts above, but I know the concern is mixing non-compatible oils, such as synthetic vs. mineral. Blue marble is kind of in a category of its' own. If it does what they claim you are fine!

OK so some new info that just rebunched my panties.

I just had a guy at a dealership tell me that the problem with mixing oils is that it can coagulate and gum up the injectors.

Any thoughts:confused: on BM an Yami coagulating?

i too have mixed blue marble with yamalube....also mixed it with amsoil, ac oil, injectrex, some other cheap crap from the kum'n'go, and a few others....my engine still runs fine with lots of miles on it....did i ever tell ya bout the time i ran 10/40 automobile oil in my yz....no problem.

The more you worry about it the more miserable you will be(not doing it and not going riding). Quit being paranoid.

We had more gumming issues on our APV valves with AC APV oil, than with BM. Much less gunk to clean when we do our pre-season every year, as opposed to what was on there before. I even had to replace mine due to the gumming up, sticking, and the cable ripping off. After that, we pulled them several times during the riding season while we were running that oil, so we could clean them. Now it's once at the beginning at the season with the rest of the pre-season maintenance. :)

That's my experience with this, and I am a hands on gal when it comes to my sled! :)

He's trying to sell you something.

nope..you are going to have to tear apart the engine and hand wipe out every speck of non compatible oil. ;)
