Will leaving key in "On"position drain battery?

Edit: Sled is a 2013 SBA

I have the defroster bag on my sled and I do have electric start. The key being way up on top if the bag is irritating and will probably end up being broken off.

I want to move the ignition switch back to it original location in which case it would end up inside the bag. If I just leave the key in the "on" position and use the recoil most of the time is it going to drain my battery?

I usually only use the e start when the sled is cold instead of roping it over so not really concerned with the accessibility of the key.

AND!
Make dang sure your key is not in the start position while the engine is running, especially if your in reverse!:mmph:

Leave it in the start position, Install a momentary on push button switch (like a dirt bike kill switch) down low on the handlebars (fused from battery then going to solenoid). That's what I did. Never do use the key to start it.

Insert key half way, turn to on, remove key, it will slide out. Not for e-start of course. Poo trick. There are only five or so keys for poos anyways. Used to be two for cats. Not to mention, disconnecting the switch under the hood. They are not even trying to compete with DESS.

FWIW, I ran the poo bag last year, and just tucked the switch in the bag, with the switch turned to on, and the key out, using the 'feature' above. And, as stated, leaving the key turned on with estart will not drain battery. Great recommendation the bar button for estart, too.
