we pay more to have fun up here.I remember the first time I went to the states as a kid.Got the same waterskiing jacket as my brother for less than half the price.Their must be a hidden fun tax on everything up here.

Take a stand, or sit back and enjoy it.
Look at Cat, they've turned around there quality control in a big way, once there sales dropped off there learned. Maybe its time the French do the same...

get one in the states...I did, cdn price in nov. $14999 I paid $10200 in montana. oh and I went down on the remeberance day weekend cdn dollar was at $1.10 not to mention no sales tax just g.s.t. at the border. I spoke to A/C canada ALL WARRANTIES ARE VALID IN CANADA NO MATTER WHAT YOUR LOCAL DEALER TELLLS YOU!!!....side note:montana dealer told me its about time things turned around, locals there have coming to Canada for years to buy sleds when the dollar was at 0.65.
Looks like those of us with budgets are gonna have to go south again to buy? 
Its really unfortunate to think that we all make more money in Canada too...
I realize that there is a price discrepency; it sucks but unless we take a pay cut its probably not going to change anytime soon.

Everything is more expensive in Canada because of your Socialist government. I feel for you guys when the govt takes way more of your pay and then you have to pay more for everything. I hate how much I get taxed here in the US and up there it is way worse.
I was asking the Arctic Cat rep if they were going to do AC demos on the 09's in Canada and he laughed saying it would be minimal. He said just getting new sleds over the border is a joke half of the time.
With our weak dollar you just gotta find a way to buy an arctic cat in the states if you want one otherwise you will pay the ridiculous prices they are in Canada.

Our governor said we have a "spending" problem. The dem's now say we have a "revenue" problem.

In all honesty, your way off base, we have an elected conservative government, we are just as much of a capitilist country as you are. Socialism is defined by production and distribution controlled by the people, and operated on fairness and equality, so having higher taxes because of free paid medicare and other standard benefits everyone should be entitled to hardly makes us a socialist, just compationate.
Saying this prices in Canada are staying high in large part because for so many years our dollar had the opposit effect, when it was worth 60 cents to a US dollar, did you see sled prices 40% higher? no, they were higher but not 40%, now they are making their money back, is it right? No, but I don't think thats going to change much.
I have also brought numerous things across lately (Ford truck, yamaha quad to name some of the bigger) and have had nothing but easy dealings at customs, its the company that makes it hard to buy from the US or Canada, not the country.

Maybe they should just price the sleds in Yen, like Yamaha does.....

i was told by my dealer that if you snow check a 09 that they would be a 1000 cheaper than the 08's. He wasnt 100% yet about it for sure. The 08's were selling here for 12500. thats here in b.c. canada

just to make it clear about the warranties valid in canada...I spoke directly to A/C canada...what else is the dealer going to tell you?(read from here with extreme sarcasm)...yeah we are $5000 more here in Canada but you have to pay american dollars down there....ooops oh yeah canadian dollar is worth more than the american...but you should be loyal to cancadian products...oh yeah its an american product, its only the canadian companies threatening fines for selling to canadians...huh?
