hey guys

I am wondering if you guys have had a stator go on you and if when you pin it, it wants to dye and feels like it is a fuel problem. i have changed plugs, coil and voltage regulater and dpm. i have cleaned the carbs as well and my sled still bogs out. any suggestions???

Rob

yes, A stator thats breaking down will work good when cold but fail are act up as soon as it warms up, The symptoms you mentioned sound like it could be a stator. Ive seen A few ZX sleds with this problem.

Yes! Troubleshot that issue on my 1998 Summit X for a year or two befire the stator finally died. Very frustrating because it seemed so much like a fuel issue.

i changed my reeds this year. I am going to change out the stator this weekend. thanks guys

Isnt the stator a little spendy to just throw at the sled to see if it fixs the issue??

I know this is an older topic.... did this work for you Vendetta??

Im just now having this issue with mine

Also the spark plug boots on these ZX sleds can be dodgy. Buddy of mine just recently had his Summit 800 (02) loosing power very soon after a top end rebuild and after checking all of the basics and it turned out to be his plug wires, one of them was bad, easy fix :face-icon-small-hap.

i had a parts sled so i just used the spare one. it did not make a difference. it was the DPM tube that leaked so it did not hold the right pressure when at elevation so i silconed up the ends and its as good as new.
