Hello I was wondering if my Cr250r with work with a timbersled st track powerwise also could you get a fit kit for a 2003 cr250r. Engine mods I have. Eric gorr porting package, stealthy flywheel weight, v force 3 reeds, fmf gnarly, fmf shorty, completely rebuilt engine. and Im planning to add a APT smartcarb or a Lectron carb. Let me know if you think this bike would have enough power.

Do a search, watch some videos. It will work, especially with a long track. There is a lot of info scattered about.

Should work as long as you are fairly light..... make sure to have carb heat and know you will be wringing its neck.

250 will pack it, done a yam yz 250 my pal did a ktm 250 2 stroke, his ktm easily would out climb our 450 4 strokes in straight up shot in fair powder, you just don't have the slogging power in your 250 that the lumbering 4 strokes have.

im wanting to build a 98 cr250 also, what did you end up doing for a fit kit? does the crf450 kit work? or did you mill your own?

When I had my track on my cr250 I was using crf450r fork clamps and spindle bushings. Then I made my own frame reducers on a lathe. also made my own strut rod can buy one if you wanted to.

The 250's run nice with a Yeti. never tried a TS

Rode a Yeti 120 with a ktm 300. very nice pkg

on the peakier motors, i would stay with a shorter track. with less grip, your track speed stays more consistent. ie instead of lugging the motor down when you go from the flats to a hill it just starts spinning. works good and keeps the rpm in the sweet spot for a peaky bike. i think if you had more traction you would just need to gear it down and shift more often.

I ran my st on my yz250 this winter and it works great. So light and nimble. Plenty of power. Guys say to be aware that you'll be revved to the max all the time but I don't see what difference that makes because when I am running the kit on my 4 stroke I'm revving it to the moon all the time too.
