03 KX 500 build

Looks like we just went through the same process! What gas tank are you using? I had issues with Thermo clearance when I tried it setup like that! Did you pickup the heat sensor for Avid? I was trying to figure out a way to include my trail-tech and that looks ideal!

It is very close but it clears

Had a bit of time to plug along on my build tonight. Got the cooling all set and hose clamps tight. Cleaned up some more wiring. Build a underseat tray to hold NOS components.

Made some progress tonight. Got the kit on. Kind of a pain in the but. First there was no fit kit info then I had to modify bushing to get it to work. I was a little disappointed in the whole process.

Burned the midnight oil and got her almost ready to rip. Still have a little adjustment to do on the plastic. Not overly impressed with UFO stuff.

Picked up a 250 tonight . Going to do a build for my wife with this bike. Nice low seat height. Comfy wide seat. Will probably do a raw kit on that.

No carb heat?? No sheilding ? You will run into carb icing if you just run that carb blanket. On the flip side - you're going to run into overheating issues anytime the snow isn't super deep. I couldn't keep temps under control on long pulls uphill where you lose speed but are still 3rd pinned. Would lose power big time. Anyways the build is wicked !! Just a heads up on what you may be running into.

I have a tunnel cooler for it if needed. I have a few ideas I am trying before I go that rout.

With a valve to stop the heating of the carb right... I found without that my carb would get too hot on none powder days...
