So, Had my sled taken a part cleaning it up. My wife backed out of the garage and ran over my clutch/ belt cover thingy. So, is it a bad idea to ride without it untill I can find a new one?

I know this is in the Ski Doo section and the last Ski Doo I owned was a 1974 399. But I wouldn't recommend riding any sled without the belt guard!:scared:

I would not ride with a wife that I am pissed at or without a belt gaurd. It could go through the plastics if it blows. I would just try to bend it back and ride with it till the new one got in.

wife

i know how to keep him home away from friends and that damb snomobile if he wasnt sitting there i wouldve ran that over too. lol j/k man

HAHA.. I know thats what she was thinking.. She trys everything she can to keep me home during the winter.

Get that thing in your vice and get some small blocks of wood and a hammer assortment and start re working it as long as it doesnt rub and the tabs go in one end and it locks on the other your good

I had a clutch grenade on the trail once at about 4000 rpm.
clutch blew out the side panel and the shards made triangle perferations in the guard, when it was over the guard looked like a cheese grater. My personal answer would be no, never, not even once.

belt gaurd

if you leave it running on its side w/o a belt gaurd it could chew a mark- hole in the side pannel. i would get another. its cheeper than replacing the side pannel if your about he looks of your sled. if not, is a pound lighter or so with out it....
