Curious to hear if anyone has ridden near Widtsoe in Garfield County? Snotel is reporting 41" at the Widtsoe Weather site. Maybe a drive south is in order nest weekend if that's true.

It's just above Bryce Canyon near Powell point, the 4wheeln is great in this area. Might be a few meadows to ride in. Some big rocks though.

Phenomenal elk hunting up there, if you can get a tag of course.. As far as riding, like mentioned above, that place is full of rocks. Thats probably why it's called Boulder Mountain. Beware

I was just curious. I look at the Snotel totals and see a lot of snow in some places, and not in others. Thanks for the heads up.

42" inches is a lot of snow. There were several over 30" the other day, but it appears we're seeing some melt. If you don't think 42" is a lot, maybe you should fill us in on what you're using as a gauge to measure with... Must be really small. ;)

Riding Areas (first post 41" but the two following replies say big rocks)
Snow measurement is all relative 42" in one area could be a lot and in another barely or not cover rocks, stumps, fallen trees and other land mines.
Another example is a flat farmers field or a paved road with a 12" of snow, most people would trust that.
It's all about the risk you want to take with sled damage or hurting yourself.

OK... I was just making conversation, and you want to get all technical. Call the snow depth police! :) I'm only kidding. But seriously, when you're bored at work, you'll talk about almost anything.

better than 12" is allot for me.. If you know how to read terrain, 30 - 40" is plenty for a fun day. We did Saturday and put a whole ride in.. If you don't risk it, you ain't living.. But if your scared of challenging your self and don't trust your terrain reading skills, stay home, 30" ain't enough... How bad do you want to ride??? Just saying..... :face-icon-small-win
