why would anyone get a can? - SLP pipe

Go read dynotech post on the axys. The early ecu he got from Polaris made 160hp. The production ecu making 152-155 hp. And he dynos the slp pipe, and he got 4hp.

This. Hot ECUs pasted into a limited run of pre-production evaluation sleds is just a reality with the OEMs. Until the final calibration units roll off the production line and are delivered, it's always abit of a crapshoot. New models that have obviously seen snow and are on display in the shows with no ECU is also a giveaway that whatever calibration they had in them, it wasn't final.

The 2016 Polaris Axys 800 HO in the new RMK chassis is a potent combination. With awesome factory power and the lowest weight of any factory mountain sled ever produced, this sled is sure to become the envy of the industry. With that being said, we at SLP take pride in our product for this new RMK model. The numbers that we have quoted for weight loss, horsepower gain and sled lengths in a drag race are real. This is what you will see when you make these modifications to your new RMK. At SLP, we not only spend countless hours in dyno development, but we also field test and provide technical support for every combination that we offer at every elevation we recommend it be used.

Now to clarify the numbers. The SLP lightweight silencer (Part# 09-319) for the Axys RMK 800 provides a 11 pound weight savings and gives an additional 2 horsepower improvement over stock. No additional fueling is required at all elevations.

The SLP pipe kit (Part# 09-866) which includes a silencer and pipe provides 14 pounds of weight savings and gives an additional 9 horsepower improvement over stock. For elevations below 4000 feet, we use a resistor (supplied with the pipe kit) to provide the additional fuel required. For elevations above 4000 feet, no additional fueling is needed.

We are super excited about this model. The engine has been very durable and it responds extremely well to modifications. And the chassis is nothing short of spectacular.

Thank You,

I'm a firm believer in SLP's pipe kit. I've ran it on several sleds with excellent results. To back this up I would run my bone stock sled in the stock Hill climb race in Valdez Alaska. When finished I would quickly change to my SLP pipe and can in full view of tech and drop seconds off my times on the same hill in the Improved class. I've built and burnt down my fair share of sleds, never can I say it was from an SLP pipe. My success with NOS is a different story lol. They also have some good clutching and skis IMO. I've even had some of my Mod motor builders recommend their pipes.

The SLP pipe and can on the axys 800 made 5 HP at dynotech this winter. I was there. It made 6 HP with the pipe and stock Polaris muffler.

a dyno is a tool. any giving day you can see different results. it's a guide line for h.p., torque gains, etc. to see if you really improved on a stock sled? a good guide line for clutching. that's it. I've seen a 5 h.p. difference from one day to the next. same dyno, same tech. running it etc.

I've had slp pipes on a dyno. most have been within a h.p. or two as what was advertised. i'am ok with that. and some showed more.

I don't like fake air, cool air, etc. run it in real world air. things are different.

we had a 07' switchback 600 c.f.i. with a slp pipe clutching etc. only showed a 7 h.p. increase on a dyno but, we have a room full of trophy's with this sled. won a local hill climb event. fastest sled up the mtn. I know it's N.H. we really don't have mtn's like you guys do. but this was mod.sleds etc. that it ran against. you would swear it had 10 or more h.p. then stock.

moral of this. it made more h.p. and it felt it and showed it. beside what the dyno said.
