Why won't my pro 163 start?

Took the hood off yesterday, just to get a good look at everything in there. Went to start it this morning and no go. Yes I plugged it back in and checked all the starting, key, kill switch...even unplugged and reconnected the hood a couple times. Not sure whats going on. Dealer not open till tuesday:face-icon-small-sad

It sounds like it was working fine before the hood removal? Check to see if you plugged in any of the electrical connections back wards or if any of the electrical pins for the connector are broken off or bent and possibly not making a connection? Good luck

Check for spark and fuel, figure out which one you are missing.

Like others said, connectors, key, kill switch.

My guess is TPS, my bros done the same thing all we done was change plugs , had spark took off ran all day. My 3rd 800 cfi make dealer check Tps. Good luck!!!

i have 1000 miles on my retro pro r-100 percent trouble free--drove it 125 miles yesterday and shut it off for the night-today it would not start-checked everything we could-had hood off and have spark-cranks but does not fire and it does not have any power at gauges when cranking-dropped it off at dealer-anybody had this issue

If you have one of those plug-style tether switches, disconnect it.

Those things will bite you in the *** every time.

try this, shut off both the key and the kill switch, pull start the sled a 1/2 dozen times(pull it hard) then turn on the key and kill switch and then pull it..see if it fires right up, if not pull the plugs and see if they are soaked, if so put in fresh plugs, hold wide open and pull till it starts...(fuel injected sleds go to a clear flood mode if they are held wide open at cranking speeds)

at first after it would not start i looked at the plugs and they were wet so i changed them out, tried many times to start and nothing-looked at plugs several times and they appeared ok but it smelled like gas and you would swear it was flooded but no start-dealer had sled today after i dropped it off and it started right up for him without evan doing anything and it worked everytime he tried it today-wtf!!!

Just to add to this thread a little, not to bash the sleds, but mine wouldn't start one morning on my last trip to Cooke. pulled on it probly 10 or 12 times and I kinda got worried, then my buddy tried it and played with the throttle while he pulled on it and it started after just a couple pulls.

I also had a friend whos pro wouldnt start all of a sudden one afternoon and it ended up being a faulty stator.

I have had this happen to me twice this year.. Crack the throttle like the old school days after you change your plugs and give her a hell yell around the block and clean her out.. I have no idea how you can flood an efi engine but I have done it twice this year and both times it was on my sled deck, once coming home from the mtns and once up at the mtns.. I'm as biff'd as you when it happens to me...

Pesky throttle safety switches I'd bet. Pull start wide open once then push the lever back out past idle position and then she should start right up. Those like to be reset once in a while depending on throttle position when kill switch is hit. I got rid of mine.

tried moving throttle lever while cranking, unpludded ignition switch and unhooked negative cable from battery--tried all those and still nothing--i did notice that no lights or display on dash worked when cranking, i can't remenber if anything displays on the gauge before it starts or not???

The dash won't light up when the key is on. Change your spark plugs and make sure your throttle cable freeplay is set correctly.
