why so many 2007 M1000's for sale??

the 1000s are a bit nose heavy for some people in stock form, and their power is a bit low for the weight, however.......by putting a y-pipe and can, some clutching, and perhaps some other inexpensive weight reductions, the sled is still very good, especially for riders over 200 lbs....another factor is the introduction of the 2010 m-8, which is pushing the hp of the 1000 in stock form, and is about 28 lbs lighter.....i have both sleds, but prefer the 1000 most of the time.....

Thanks for reading my mind. My thoughts exactly

07 sled is going on 4 years old as well, not a lot of people own the same sled for 4 or more years in my experience.

Prob looking for something a little newer, a change?

there are a lot of problems w/ the new update that cat is offering. I am looking into getting an m1k and everything I have read is horrible about the update, and then my buddy got the update on his and it runs like....a polaris or something. it is horrible. Everyting I have read and every dealer I have talked to has said DO NOT GET THE UPDATE...esp if you want to do ANY engine mods...even bolt on stuff like exhaust.

Just my 2cents. I am thinking I might just keep my 04 900 1m, throw on a RK Tek head and keep kickin the newer sleds all over the mt. Then m8 pump gas turbo HERE I COME!

So in other words, the 2007 M1000's aren't the sleds to buy then?

I've been looking at buying a 2007 with 1268 miles on it for $6500 ....

Should I stay away from it?

FYI

Look on ebay, you can get a brand new 2007 M1000 162 Sno Pro for $6999 plus $400 shipping to any A/C dealer.

I got rid of my edge and bought mine at the beginning of last season. When it was running I loved it. I love the power, and I love the way it handles. I think its my fault that the top end burned down at the end of last year but not quit sure yet. I cant wait to ride it this year.
Just my 2c.

my 07 m1000 was a great sled

the 09 m1000 and 2010 m8 are roughly 30 lbs lighter and putting out the same power, but the 07 with a y-pipe, can and efi box they are hard 2 beat

These sleds run amazing, but definitely plenty of them around. That price seems pretty steep. Been lots in perfect condition for 5500 or less. Biggest problem we have had with the 1000s is all the 800 doo guys dont want to give them any credit. They can run, pipes, heads, clutching etc.. and your stock 1000 woops em and its just cuz its a 1000. :) They are a little heavy but the way the M chassis handles it still an easy ride.

07 m1000

The 07 M1000 were the most popular sled sales in 07. As A dealer we could not keep them in stock we sold the heck out of them. To me that is why the market is flooded with them. So as dealers we stocked accordingly and because of the M8 turbos and the stock M8 clutched and tuned better the 08 M8 out sold the M1000 by a long ways. That why all the dealers ended up with a boat load of 08 M1000 witch killed the 1000 market. OK well that what my observation is on the market.

The 07 M1000 had the very best tune as far as 07 vs 08 until they were flashed the 07 m1000,s are good and priced right. There is just a lot of them out there and most guys update every 1-2 years.

I asked the same thing last year about 08's.
There's some good buys on M1000s out there. Good bang for your buck. Mine's been pretty much flawless for about 900mi with a pipe, head and box. It's fast. Handles fine. Isn't any harder to throw around than the M7 I think.
Mine doesn't blow belts (knock on wood). I wore one out in about 600-700 mi, but that many miles is a season+ for me, so no big deal.

I have the 07 M1000 that I would love to sale. BUT since I got such a screwing on it (without the KY) I can't afford to get rid of her now. Great sled just think that the newer ones that are just a little bit lighter are the ticket. Especially if I modded it like the one I have now.

I agree that most people don't keep their sleds for more than a few years and that is one of the biggest reasons that we are seeing them for sale. I also know that I saw a lot of the stock M8's kicking my M1000 A$$ before I modded her up. Very disappointing.
