my hell
Okay, got to looking at it and it appears everything is hooked up right.... Only problem is there is no check valve like there obviously should be! It's a solid tube from the oil pump to the fuel pump. No check valve nor evidence that there ever was one. My guess is one of the moron previous owners deleted it for some reason and put a straight tube? Other reason I think one of the previous owners is a moron is...and not sure why I didn't notice before...I'll say because I'm new to the world of snow mobiles, but the oil cap is not even an oil gap! It's a fuel cap with the slide bars cut off! And a screw through the gauge hole! I'm pretty sure that thing is supposed to vent, which since it's not is making my problem worse.
Here's my theory, the lack of air venting in the oil tank is probably causing a lot of vacuum in the tank, especially when I'm on the throttle and the oil pump is pulling more oil from the tank. Then when I let off the throttle instead of air taking the place of the oil it's sucking fuel through the pump into the reservoir. And the lack of a check valve makes it all possible. I could be wrong, and if anybody has any better theories Id love to hear them. I'll see if I can post a picture of my "oil cap"
